Avalon Park

Avalon Park was established in 1998 and was built over 1900 acres, which includes some preserved lands, a town center, and villages. This area is similar, in comparison, to that of Baldwin Park and Celebration. However, the downtown area in Avalon Park offers a bit more than these locations.

This beautiful area is located in East Orlando, which is about 25 minutes north from the Orlando International Airport and Lake Nona area. It is also about 25 minutes east from downtown Orlando. Travel a little further down I-4 and you’ll find the Walt Disney World parks and resorts at about 45 minutes away.

Town Center/Downtown

Filled with various small businesses, you can find anything you need from barber shops to bars and restaurants. Marketplace is a large food hall that recently opened, where you can find many different varieties of flavors in each small restaurant within. This concept is becoming very popular here in Orlando, with similar locations like Hall on the Yard and East End Market.

Things To Do

There is not a single moment in Avalon Park where you may be wondering what to do next. On their website there is a whole calendar of upcoming events including food truck nights, informational seminars, and community get-togethers. Because of this, it is a very active and family-friendly community where all can come together.

If you’re the type of person who enjoys the great outdoors, there’s something here for you too!  Avalon Park has 16 miles of walking trails and pools in each village, all paired with amenity centers. Not only this, but throughout the neighborhood you’ll find beautiful trees and nature surrounding you at every turn.

Real Estate

Avalon Park encompasses the idea of “new urbanism”, including a town center with various villages surrounding it. These include apartments, townhomes, middle-size homes with rear entry, and estate-size homes. Whether you’re looking for your first home or somewhere to retire, Avalon Park has something to offer everyone.

Since some of these homes were built at the time of establishment in 1998, there are some fixer-uppers. However, new townhomes are currently being built as well, with the average price around $300,000. If you’re looking for a larger home, these range between the $600,000-700,000’s. Compared to other areas right now, this is actually pretty affordable for all that it offers.

From the Residents

We interviewed some current residents in this community, and asked them about the area and what they like most. There are so many wonderful offerings here, but the culture and atmosphere is what really has won residents over. Many also included the wonderful sense of community, and the events that are put on throughout the year. These are a must for families, especially with kids!

Overall

Avalon Park is a wonderful area for those seeking community and culture. Whether you’re looking for a small or large home, there’s something here for everyone. Have you ever taken a visit to Avalon Park?
