It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which means all your favorite bars in Orlando have been decked out accordingly. There’s never been a better excuse to go bar hopping than right now. We’ve curated a list of the best Christmas-themed bars in Orlando, and you won’t want to miss out on a single one!
The Reindeer Room
After a long, tiring day of delivering presents around the world, there’s only one place Santa’s reindeer want to go to unwind: The Reindeer Room. Located in Thornton Park on East Washington Street comes this vibrant Christmas pop-up bar, bringing you a slew of holiday-themed beverages coupled with a warm, lively atmosphere.
As you approach the entrance, you’ll notice it’s both merry and bright, with a mix of warm and multi-colored string lights strung from the roof, walls, and windows of this establishment. Inside, you’re met with illuminated inflatable snowmen, a corner of Christmas trees, columns draped in lights and tinsel, and giant Santa hats covering the backs of all the barstools. Of course, you can’t miss the near-endless number of Christmas lights that fill the space, as well as the wrapping paper-covered walls.
In addition to the themed decor, The Reindeer Room plays classic Christmas movies on its television screens all night long, as well as a festive playlist of holiday tunes. As for the drinks, there are many to choose from. You can get holiday shots, mules, loaded slushies, holiday cocktails and martinis, as well as draft, canned, and bottled beers and wine.
We tried the Grinch’s Vacation cocktail made with coconut rum, melon liqueur, blue curaçao, pineapple juice, Sprite, and a cherry, and it was nothing short of exceptional!
You can vibe at The Reindeer Room yourself Monday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
Mathers Social Gathering
You know and love it year-round, but you’ll love it even more during the holiday season. We’re talking about Mathers Social Gathering, and it has taken Christmas to the next level. Located on South Magnolia Avenue in downtown Orlando, Mathers brings only the coziest Christmas vibes to the city’s bar scene.
Follow the elevator to the third floor and you’ll be met with a snowy Christmas tree, snow-covered windowsills, and a classy portrait of Saint Nick himself adorning the wall of the waiting room. Venture behind the bookcase into an illuminated haven overflowing with the Christmas spirit.
The walls are crawling with snowy garland, vibrant red poinsettias, pine cones, and more while the ceilings are littered with warm string lights that make you feel at home. At the back of the bar, you’ll find a towering Christmas tree filled with lights, flowers, and all the red ornaments you can imagine. Enjoy the sight of it accompanied by soothing jazz tunes from the nightly live performances here.
You may notice an unusually large number of nutcrackers throughout this spot. It’d be in your best interest to keep count; whoever can guess how many nutcrackers are located within Mathers wins a $100 bar tab! Talk about a merry Christmas!
Miracle on Orange at The Courtesy
Back and better than ever comes The Courtesy’s Christmas-themed pop-up bar, Miracle on Orange. Head down North Park Avenue in Winter Park and find what some might consider a Christmas Miracle.
You’re greeted by a beautifully decorated Christmas tree accompanied by doors dressed in garland, string lights, and big red bows. Two Christmas wreaths sit on either side of the entrance, truly giving you a warm welcome as you venture inside.
The inside of Miracle on Orange is much more low-down with dimmed lights making space for all the Christmas decor to shine through. From rockin’ reindeer to snowflakes and Christmas presents hanging from the ceilings, The Courtesy is no stranger to Christmas.
Each year, Miracle on Orange sports a festive cocktail menu with a wide range of unique names and flavors. You can order the Christmapolitan, Crooked Antler, Jingle Balls Nog, and so much more!
This pop-up operates on a reservations-only basis under The Courtesy’s normal hours of operation, so it’s best to act fast and book your visit as soon as possible. It’s open Monday from 6 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Winter in Wonderland at High-T Orlando
Even Alice in Wonderland fancies a Christmas-themed bar, and you’ll find just that and more at High-T in downtown Orlando. Located on West Church Street is everyone’s favorite Wonderland-themed bar, and it’s taken a Christmasy turn this year!
At the bottom of the stairwell, you’re greeted by a giant inflatable nutcracker who guides you up to the bar. Mind the Christmas tree covered in playing cards and wearing a big top hat hanging from above as you make your way up!
Once upstairs, you’re met with a giant tree — but not the Christmas kind — decorated in all the right holiday decor befitting this Wonderland-themed bar and a cozy red sofa that makes for a festive photo op!
Every corner is adorned in combinations of green garland, snowflakes, various icicle and string lights, and red poinsettias coupled with giant candy canes and ornaments hanging from the ceiling. It’s not just a winter wonderland; it’s Winter in Wonderland.
High-T is bringing all the Christmas cocktails your heart desires this holiday season, all bearing cleverly themed names. Some of the drinks you can order include Let it Snow, Underneath the Mistletoe, Polar Espresso, and Jack Frost. There are plenty more, but you’ll just have to stop by and try them all for yourself!
