Community Spotlight: Ocoee

Just east of Orlando lies the city of Ocoee, one of the fastest growing cities in Orange County. Ocoee’s quality of life is regarded as being among the best in Orange County — which will come as no surprise when you check out what it has to offer.

About the Community

Ocoee was incorporated in the early 1920's, and is on a fast track to becoming the second largest in population to Orlando in Orange County today!

This city is home to more than 30,000 people, and 400-500 new homes are constantly being added each year. You’ll find amazing amenities like a new mall, a top tier hospital, and loads of businesses and restaurants to choose from.

Ocoee is near all the major highways like Florida’s Turnpike, SR-50, the 408, and the new Western Beltway. You can get to attractions like Walt Disney World in under 30 minutes, and it’s less than 20 minutes from Downtown Orlando. Some of the public schools in Ocoee include Ocoee Elementary School, Ocoee Middle School, and Ocoee High School. There are also charter schools such as Legacy High Charter School and Hope Charter School.

Neighborhoods and Home Buying

There are a variety of communities throughout Ocoee that offer homes from the low $200’s to $750K or higher. As of September 2023, the average price for a home sold in this area was around $420K, with the median at $415K.

Each neighborhood in Ocoee is different from the next, so let’s dive into what sets them apart.

Crown Pointe Cove

Crown Pointe Cove in Ocoee is a gated neighborhood filled with single-family homes in the northern part of the city. Homes in this neighborhood tend to have three to six bedrooms and two to three bathrooms. You’ll find homes with anywhere between 2,000 to 2,400 square feet of living space, many of which enjoy views of woods and ponds.

Most homes in this neighborhood sell in the low to mid $500’s, and the community offers on-site family-friendly amenities like a playground and a tot lot.

Lake Meadow Landing

Lake Meadow Landing is a quiet suburb in Ocoee filled with a variety of new townhomes. Homes start in the high $300’s, with home sizes ranging from 1,800 to 2,100 square feet.

Lake Meadow Landing offers a community pool, a playground, a dog park, a lake, and a nature trail. There’s private gated entry to the community, and there’s easy and convenient access to SR-429 and the 408.

Lake Olympia North Village

It’s gorgeous homes galore in Lake Olympia North Village, and each comes in a variety of sizes and affordable prices. The square footage ranges from 2,300 to 2,800, and the pricing ranges from the low $500’s to the high $600’s.

Things to Do in Ocoee

More than just a suburb, Ocoee has a lot to offer its residents and visitors. Here’s a variety of things you can do to stay entertained.

Play in Nature

Pick your own blueberries at Tom West Blueberries and get a hands-on experience with Florida’s nature scene.

There’s also Bill Breeze Park, which is the perfect place to fish, have a picnic, play with your kids, or just relax as the weather starts to cool down.

Shopping

Ocoee has the West Oaks Mall to suit all your shopping needs, but if you’re looking for more variety, the city is centrally located near other surrounding cities.

There’s Winter Garden Village, an outdoor mall in Winter Garden filled with all of the stores your heart desires, as well as the Mall at Millenia right off of I-4 on Conroy Rd.

There are also plenty of local markets such as Driftwood Market, Miscellaneous Market, Plant St Market, Adjectives Market and more.

Events

The community holds yearly events on Martin Luther King Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Easter, and more for those who want to celebrate with their fellow neighbors. Check out their Facebook page for all news and updates daily!
