Epic Universe: What We Know So Far…

Are you ready to experience an epic new theme park in Orlando? Universal’s newest project, Epic Universe, will be a real game changer in the world of theme parks. This will be the largest Universal Park in the United States and it is set to open by summer 2025! 

Timeline

Epic Universe was originally slated to open in the summer of 2023. Due to the pandemic, construction was paused in spring 2020. In March 2021, work resumed on the new park, and it seems to be full steam ahead for 2025!

Park Details

Epic Universe will be huge for Universal. The last big addition to Universal was The Wizarding World of Harry Potter back in 2010. The new park will include many different lands and attractions based on characters and movies from Dreamworks, Illuminations and Nintendo. Epic Universe is even rumored to get a Super Nintendo World! The park will have a similar layout to Disney parks and will be using the wheel-and-spoke design. This means that there will be a hub in the center of the park and there will be paths leading to the lands from it. The park will also be the first Universal park to have all of the lands be isolated from everything else. All the lands will feel completely immersive. 

Location

Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay are located on the north campus of Universal property. Epic Universe is going to be located on the south campus part of the property. It will be about a 15-minute drive from the other three parks. Universal has already confirmed that free transportation will be provided between the parks. Universal’s north campus- which is home to Universal Orlando, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, Universal hotels, and City Walk is roughly 735 acres. The south campus, which will be home to Epic Universe is approximately 750 acres. It is said that Epic Universe is just the beginning of what they plan to do with the land. 

Overall

This is going to be great for Universal and for Central Florida for that matter! This will bring more jobs to Florida, which is great for the economy! Everyone is excited to see this new masterpiece of a park and what a game changer it will be.
