Foodie Guide to Orlando Pride

It’s Pride Month and if you’re ready to taste the rainbow (literally) to celebrate, we’ve got the list for you! We’ve compiled a foodie guide with several rainbow and Pride food offerings available this month in Central Florida. All of these look and sound delicious, and we can’t wait to try them all!

Gideon’s Bakehouse

Gideon’s Bakehouse in Orlando is known for serving up their giant cookies and double frosted cake slices. In the month of June, however, you can try their signature Rainbow Crunch Cake! This cake is made of vanilla confetti cake frosted with marshmallow buttercream, and stuffed with mega crunchy rainbow crumbs throughout. Gideon’s has two locations: one at East End Market and the other at Disney Springs. However, the cakes and cookies do sell out pretty quickly on most days. We recommend getting there early if you’d like to give this sweet concoction a try!

Light on the Sugar Bakery & Cafe

We’ve talked about Light on the Sugar Bakery & Café before, they are a bakery and café located in Winter Park. This location serves up seriously delicious and adorable treats daily, including macarons and cake. In fact, I believe they have some of the best cream puffs and cheesecake in Orlando! However, one of the items they are most known for is their crepe cake. This month they have a Rainbow crepe cake available at both of their Winter Park locations. This cake is seriously delicious, made of layers of thin crepes and decorated beautifully with each layer as a different color of the rainbow.

Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria

Pom Pom’s is one of my most favorite places to get sandwiches in Central Florida! They are made fresh and are packed full of flavor. You can also make any of their classic sandwiches a combo and get them served with noodles and tea. This month, they will be serving up their very instagrammable “Pride Melt”, which is a rainbow grilled cheese sandwich. Perfectly toasty and absolutely beautiful, this is one I haven’t tried quite yet and I can’t wait to get my hands on this year!

Se7en Bites

Se7en Bites is a restaurant serving “sweet & savory Southern fare & nostalgic sweets”. It is LGBTQ+ owned, and while a rainbow treat has not been officially announced at this time, in the past years they have served up rainbow cakes and other treats to celebrate PRIDE. Located in the Milk District, you won’t want to miss out on all of the PRIDE and summer treats they will be serving up this year.

Valhalla Bakery

Valhalla Bakery is located in Market on South and they are a vegan bakery, which means they’re also allergy friendly for anyone who can’t eat eggs or dairy. They serve a range of treats from cookies to cakes, cupcakes and more! However, this month they are serving up their famous Gayke. Yes, Gayke is exactly what you are thinking of – “gay cake”! This cake is a vegan multilayered cake, each layer a different color of the rainbow with a white frosting in between the layers and on top. With rainbow sprinkles on top, it almost looks too perfect to eat… almost.

Overall

There are so many Rainbow treats to try in Central Florida this year! We hope this foodie guide gets you started with just a few of the delicious PRIDE foods available all month long! Be sure to also check out a deep dive on a couple of these locations below!
