Harrell’s Hot Dogs & Cold Cones

I think it’s safe to say almost everyone loves hotdogs. They have so many possibilities from toppings to bun to type of dog, it’s almost endless! I’m constantly on the search for Orlando’s top dog and I came across another great spot located in Winter Garden. Let’s take a deeper dive into Harrell’s Hot Dogs & Cold Cones!

About

Harrell’s is from the same restaurant group as The Whole Enchilada, a great Mexican spot right across the street. The Knallhart Management Group has 12 different restaurants and venues scattered across the Central Florida area and doesn’t disappoint. Harrell’s opened in 2020 and is located right in the center of Winter Garden’s historic downtown area. It’s the perfect location to enjoy a hot dog or ice cream cone on a nice summer day in Orlando.

What’s the Vibe?

Harrell’s is small but well themed, filled with black and white tiling. If you’ve ever been to The Whole Enchilada you know the upstairs theming is great. Harrell’s provides a simple black and white theme, which is a bit more neutral. There’s black and white graffiti on the ceiling at the front that gives it a fun and exciting look. The back of the restaurant also has a huge neon pink sign that says “Hot Diggity Dog”, perfect for your next Instagram post!

Hot Dogs & Cold Cones

The best part of this dog spot is the amount of options when it comes to the food. Each hot dog can be customized in so many ways. Let’s start with buns!

For buns you can go with your classic white button, a staple at any hot dog joint. You could choose a Brioche bun, mixing it up with some delicious flair. Maybe you’re feeling a poppy seed bun, perfect for a classic Chicago dog. Or maybe, you don’t even want a bun, you want a hot dog salad. You can do spinach or arugula and bypass the bun all together!

Now for the dog. We start with the all beef classic, your traditional scrumptious dog, perfect for any bun. We follow that up with the Brat, giving you that bold flavor. Maybe you’re feeling meat free? No worries, they have a vegan dog just for you. And if you aren’t feeling beef or plant, mix it up with a bird dog! In addition to this, there are also grilled tenders or fried nuggets in your bun of choice, or a waffle cone.

For toppings, I can’t even name them all. They have all your classics and more with over 30 topping options including flaming hot Cheetos, pineapple, and potato sticks!

They also have lots of interesting sauces for your fries or dog. I really enjoyed Harrell’s sauce but with so many options, something is sure to fit your pallet.

And once you’re done with lunch, you can’t forget to grab an ice cream cone! It’s the perfect way to wrap up the meal in the Florida sun.

What I Ordered

On my visit I got a chili cheese dog, some home made fries, Harrell’s sauce, truffle aioli, and an ice cold glass bottle coke. It was honestly in my top 5 hot dogs of all time. The Brioche bun was so soft, the flavor of the dog was delicious, and I was transported to a place beyond space and time where I was enveloped by the flavors. The fries were so good dipped in Harrell’s sauce. It’s a fry sauce with a zesty punch, with what seemed to be a mayo base.

Overall it was an amazing experience at Harrell’s Hot Dogs & Cold Cones. I would definitely recommend it, and I will 100% be going back!
