History

This space is actually still relatively new to the area, it’s only been open since 2015 but the concept has had some rebranding moments. There’s been a few name changes over the years like the Orlando Eye, The Coca-Cola Eye and now the Wheel at Icon Park. It’s mission has always been to provide tourists with an additional location here to visit other than Universal and Disney World. Starting with the construction of the famous Orlando Eye, the 400 ft. ferris wheel overlooking all of Orlando, it’s grown to 20 acre open promenade with restaurants, rides and shopping and has quickly become an Orlando staple.

Pricing

Don’t worry about admission prices here, everyone is free to enter the park! Once again, this is a great place whether it’s a day that’s planned to the final detail or just a last minute idea, there’s truly not a lot of restriction when it comes to spending time here.

Food

You can purchase snacks and drinks at smaller kiosks around the square or start the afternoon off with lunch and choose from 13 different restaurants.  like Gordon Ramsay’s Fish and Chips–his newest location in Florida, Uncle Julio’s Mexican Cantina for taco tuesday, The Tin Roof for live music and events or stop into Tapa Toro’s for contemporary Spanish cuisine!

Attractions

What goes best with good food? Great entertainment! Icon Park has Madame Tussauds wax museum and you can purchase tickets online for a head start! The Wheel at Icon Park is one of the most famous attractions in Florida, this massive ferris wheel has amazing views and makes for the perfect photo op! Don’t forget to brave rides like the Starflyer and the Orlando Slingshot! These rides are a must but just in case, you can find videos of visitors riding them online to see what you’re getting into first, because they’re definitely not for the faint of heart!
