Kissimmee Lakefront Park

I’m always on the hunt for new places I can enjoy with my dog, and spend time outside soaking up the sun. This week, I visited Kissimmee Lakefront Park, and savored the shaded areas, fishing piers, playgrounds, and more that keep bringing visitors back again and again.

A Walking Path and More!

Located down the road from the courthouse, Kissimmee Lakefront Park is a beautiful park that has something to offer everyone. A long walking path shaded by trees surrounds the park for anyone looking for a stroll. There is also children’s playground, fishing piers for our local anglers, and pavilions for bbqs and grills. So many beautiful areas fill this park, open for those to read a book or relax in under a tree.

One of the focal points of the park is a lighthouse. You can walk around to view it, or use it as a beautiful backdrop for pictures! There is also a splash pad for children to play in – an amazing free place to play and cool off in for families this summer! The pavilions are available to rent out for parties or meetings, and the fishing piers stretch out across a vast lakefront filled with Florida’s local animals. This may sound weird, but the park itself smelled so good due to the flowers near the water’s edge!

Concessions

At the park itself there is a concession stand with snacks, candy, ice cream, and beverages. We saw many families enjoying ice cream while taking a break from the sun, and the area next to the concession stand is filled with picnic tables to enjoy your confections.

What’s Around?

If you’re looking to spend the day in Kissimmee and explore some other spots to visit, there are a variety of restaurants and activities close by to complete your day. Down the street is Cafè Barista, which we we wrote an article about just last week! This food spot has yummy breakfast options and sandwiches, as well as coffee and tea. Also within a short drive is Gatorland, a theme park that houses a number of Florida creatures and teaches visitors about the animals that live here. The Loop is also close by, which is a giant shopping center filled with numerous stores, restaurants, and a movie theater.

Overall

Kissimmee Lakefront Park is a beautiful park to enjoy, whether you’re taking a stroll with your dog or fishing in the flower filled swamp. The concession stand is the perfect place to stop by to take a break from the summer sun, and the trees and lighthouse are ready for their close up on your instagram feed.

Have you ever been to this spot in Kissimmee? What’s your favorite park?
