By Yasmene Warren

A lot of developments are underway for Central Florida, and one particular one stands above the rest in Osceola County: NeoCity. Here’s everything we know about this new development!

What Is NeoCity?

NeoCity is an upcoming 500-acre urban campus that will serve as a global hub for advanced manufacturing research and development. It will serve as a collaborative community for world-renowned colleges and universities, research institutions, and top-of-the-line companies in the development of optics, photonics, and smart sensors.

A $50.8M grant was awarded to Osceola County and its coalition partners in September 2022 from the Build Back Better Regional Challenge Grant for NeoCity. This grant will help grow the fabrication lab and bring a variety of jobs to the technology field.

Since then, the county received an award (the Cornerstone Grant) from the Department of Defense in November 2023, with a five-year contract potentially resulting in a total award of $289M. Osceola also secured $17.5M for a multi-use lab in Neocity in the same month, and in December of 2024 worked with ELSPES to bring hundreds more jobs to the area by 2028.

What Will NeoCity Have?

The 500 acres that make up NeoCity will soon be home to a variety of facilities that will steer technology into a new direction.
