Explore Orlando Waterfront Real Estate
With its multitude of lakes, ponds, and other small bodies of water, Orlando has countless opportunities to own a waterfront property. The city itself is home to desirable residential neighborhoods that offer privacy and safety—but a waterfront home adds just a little bit extra.
Orlando, a large city, is known for its vibrant atmosphere, exciting theme parks, and luxurious neighborhoods. The Orlando real estate market is composed of single-family homes, townhomes, condos, and even vacant lots and land. Those dreaming of a home that backs onto a body of water have a lot of choice—from the high-rise condos that overlook Lake Eola to the detached homes on small, tranquil lakes. As well as in the residential areas outside of all the hustle and bustle, there are even opportunities to own a waterfront home right in the heart of the city.
Offering both scenic views and extra privacy, waterfront real estate in Orlando is generally priced higher than other properties. However, with the vast number of listings on the market, there is a home for any lifestyle and a wide range of buyers. Waterfront condos, for example, offer some exceptional views, and the added bonus of typically being quite private—but gorgeous views do come at a price.
Single-family homes and townhomes on the waterfront vary. Townhomes are often built along smaller bodies of water, but there is far more choice for those seeking a detached home. Despite this, these properties are categorized by desirable, quiet streets, which are ideal for families looking to invest in real estate in the Orlando area. In areas such as Lake Nona, which are still expanding, there are still opportunities to purchase a new construction home on the waterfront, and residents also have the added amenities of one of the most desirable communities in Greater Orlando.
While boating is one of the favorite pastimes of Orlando (and Florida!) residents, waterfront homes do not always have a private dock. In some cases, water access is also limited, and this is dependent on the size of the body of water and the type of property—as some are simply not large enough for boating. Despite this, most waterfront homes for sale in Orlando do have some kind of outdoor entertaining space, so residents can still enjoy the gorgeous water… just from a distance.
Luxury waterfront homes are elevated and refined. These highly-desirable properties are situated on some of the larger bodies of water, in some of the most highly sought-after neighborhoods.
Orlando Waterfront Highlights & Amenities
Whilst waterfront real estate can range from traditional, more affordable bungalows to multi-million dollar luxury estates, these properties do have a few things in common: easy access to Orlando’s excellent amenities, and the added privacy that the waterfront provides.
Single-family homes and townhomes with water views are typically located in desirable, residential areas. And even in popular neighborhoods, such as College Park, there are often very few waterfront properties to choose from. Homes do typically have large backyards for entertaining, and although water access is not guaranteed, there is absolutely added ambiance to the property that other homes simply do not have.
When it comes to waterfront condos for sale, these properties have a lot of the same desirable features as other property types. The waterfront provides additional privacy, and the views are excellent. Whilst water access is dependent on the property, condos complexes in Orlando have a lot of other amenities, which can include additional storage, a pool, a fitness center or gym, meeting or event rooms, and so much more.
Of course, there is so much to see and do around the city. The theme parks, such as Disney, shops, restaurants, golf courses, museums and galleries, and the airport are all just a short drive away.
