The abandoned Orlando Sun Resort and Convention Center will soon find new life as Ovation. South Florida real estate firm, Accesso, in partnership with Meyers Group commercial developers will set a mixed-use plan in motion to elevate the shopping and dining choices within the region’s tourism corridor, less than a mile from Walt Disney World Resort.

Accesso acquired the 76-acre site, located by Interstate 4 and U.S. 192, for just over $70 million. A spokesperson for the firm told The Orlando Real that demolition is set to begin this month with groundbreaking to follow within the first six months of 2026.

Ovation's mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment will occupy unique zones; each featuring their own ambiance. The list is as follows:

The Celebration: A retail, dining, and entertainment district anchored by a signature attraction with landscaped public spaces and room for pop-up events.
The Water’s Edge: World-class dining next to a three-acre lake.
The Indulgence: Upscale retail and services highlighted by one of the signature hotels.
The Street: Retail, restaurants, and entertainment for any taste set in a vibrant urban environment.
The Beat: A lively nightlife concept with clubs, restaurants, and music venues.

No construction timelines beyond demolition and groundbreaking were provided, but The Orlando Real was told development of all five zones is planned in one phase with flexibility for development in multiple phases if needed.

Updates on leasing and new tenant announcements will follow in the coming months.
