Permanent Vacation is a cocktail bar and restaurant located on Lake Avenue inside of The Copper Rocket - a sports bar that serves an array of beers on tap and classic American grub.
Walking into the unassuming Copper Rocket Pub, you’ll be met with a traditional American bar environment. Journey inside and find your one-way entrance to Permanent Vacation.
This spot is uniquely themed around living in a bright, tropical paradise, with a spooky atmosphere - complete with shrunken heads, skulls, and tiki torches filling the room.
While reservations are not required, they’re highly recommended, as this is a very popular spot. Wait times for a party of two can be as high as four hours — maybe even longer — so it’s best to plan ahead!
Those looking for a tropical getaway can do so Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

This bar heavily encourages you to pick your poison, and it has loads of unique sips to choose from (in some very uniquely themed glasses).

You can order one of their “sedatives” and get drinks like Raw Safari with rum, melon, lime, mint, and pineapple. “Tranquilizers” like Grant’s Tomb with rye, Bermuda rum, pog, lime, and mamajuana are sure to knock you right out. Or care to enjoy “calmatives” like Squeelin’ Pig Swizzle and taste the flavors of carypton, lime, and amaro.
If you want to sip with your friends, you can “share the booty” with drinks like the Grog Bowl that has a tasty blend of rum, honey, and grapefruit lime.
As for the eats, you can enjoy an array of appetizing bites, kabobs, and flatbreads to pair with your drink(s).
Inside the Bar & Restaurant
If you’re looking for a tropical, yet spooky vibe, you’ll find it at Permanent Vacation. You’ll be met with warm, vibrant lighting, spooky tropical decor, and an ungodly number of skulls and shrunken heads.
The theming is so well done, from the skulls of past travelers along the ceiling, down to the gravestone coasters at the bar.
