All About Apopka, Florida

Located about 30-45 minutes from Downtown Orlando comes Apopka, Florida, a city in Seminole County. Known as “Fern City,” it’s best known for its abundance of lakes, springs, and forests and is currently home to about 55,000 residents.

If you fancy the outdoors, you may be familiar with Lake Apopka and Wekiva Springs State Park or Wekiva Island or have even gone adrift in the natural lazy river at Kelly Park - Rock Springs.

More than just a haven for all things nature, however, Apopka brings a perfect blend of small-town charm and city living. Here, you can find a variety of locally owned businesses to shop from and affordable neighborhoods to live in, with the average sales price for a home in the mid $400's.

Residential Growth and Opportunities

Like most of the outskirts of Orlando, there’s a lot of growth going on in Apopka. One major project starts with a $1.2 billion build-out at Wyld Oaks.

This five to six-year project will be a multipurpose blend of office, medical, retail, and residential space. Multi-family apartments are among the first to be built, which is crucial to bringing in revenue and new residents.

Venture across the street to Golden Gem Road, and you’ll find a variety of townhomes — most of which start in the low $300s. In similar areas like Waterloo in Horizon West, townhomes average anywhere between $445K-$490K, saving you about $100,000 by choosing Apopka as your new home!

Living in North Apopka has its perks; you’re only 15 minutes from Mount Dora and roughly 15 to 20 minutes from Heathrow and Lake Mary. What's great about this area is that so much of the city is brand new, making it optimal for hungry homebuyers.

Located on 2300 Orange Blossom Trail comes the Florida Town Center. This project will be home to 300 new apartments and up to 200,000 square feet of commercial and retail space.

The Oaks at Kelly Park

Need ideas on where to start looking for homes in Apopka? We know just where to start: The Oaks at Kelly Park.

This Toll Brothers neighborhood stands out from similar ones in Orlando and has a lot to offer new homebuyers.

One home is the Craftsman model, which comes in at about 2,200 square feet and boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms. A similar home in Clermont or Horizon West would typically start in the high $600's and low $700's, but here in North Apopka, this home starts in the high $500's.

Living in the Apopka area can save you thousands — it doesn’t get better than that!
