Sixty Vines

by Holley Long

If you’ve visited Winter Park, you know there’s no shortage of places to enjoy good food and drinks. Next time you’re in the city, I encourage you to check out a restaurant that has that plus the chance to pretend you’re a sommelier for a day.

The Restaurant

A trip to Sixty Vines in Winter Park is like a trip to wine country, without the airfare. With seven locations—from Florida to Texas—the restaurant pours wine on tap, so guests sip Napa Valley’s finest as it’s meant to be enjoyed: straight from the barrel.

And the “straight from the barrel” taste isn’t just about giving the authentic vineyard experience. By serving wine on tap, Sixty Vines helps keep bottles, corks, and foil out of landfills, which is great for the environment and for you. If the restaurant is saving on bottle costs, you’re saving on each glass of red.

The Wines

Sixty Vines offers 60 taps of wines made all over the world, from Italian prosecco to Californian pinot noir. The taps are constantly rotating, so there’s always a chance you’ll find a new name on the menu.

You can order a pour as small as half a glass, giving you plenty of opportunities to explore different flavors that pair with each course of your meal without overdoing it—no one wants to be left stumbling out of the restaurant.

The Food

Sixty Vines prides itself on finding the right pour for every palate and the right wine to complement every dish. Inspired by the tastes of wine country, the lunch, brunch, and dinner menus include everything from cheese and meat boards to an angus New York strip.

I visited during brunch, and while the Avocado Eggs Benedict and Dutch Baby pancake souffle called to me, I went with the campanelle. The cherry tomatoes and white wine sauce made it a more refreshing choice, and on a warm Florida day that can’t be beat.

Overall

Next time you’re searching for a new restaurant to try, I hope you check out Sixty Vines. The combination of great food, great wine, and great atmosphere can’t be beat. And the restaurant is located just a short walk from Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. After lunch or brunch, make a plan to walk off the feast along the trails or just sit and enjoy the Florida sun.

So if that trip to wine country isn’t happening anytime soon, get your fill of the vineyard tastes at Sixty Vines!
