The one thing California had over Florida was its exclusive Californian cuisine. Just like Florida, they have Disney, beaches and warm weather, but their amazing food remained pretty exclusive to the state borders — until now.

Summer House on the Lake has just made landfall in Disney Springs, and it’s serving up California-inspired bites for Disney lovers and Orlando locals alike to enjoy. Let’s check it out!

All About Summer House on the Lake

Summer House on the Lake is a new California-style restaurant that recently opened Dec. 14 on the west side of Disney Springs.

This restaurant has flagship locations in Chicago, Illinois and North Bethesda, Maryland, and Las Vegas, Nevada, with its newest in Lake Buena Vista at Disney Springs. They’re all about bringing in the sunshine all year round.

Summer House is renowned for its beach house dining environment, in-house cookie bar, and extensive wine and cocktail list.

Whether you frequent Disney Springs or you’re just looking for a new place in town to grab California-flavored bites, you can stop by Summer House on the Lake Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Brunch, Lunch, & Dinner

Summer House on the Lake’s menu features a California-inspired selection of foods made with sustainable ingredients.

During lunch and dinner, feast on a variety of salads, sandwiches, pizzas and more. Try savory starters like jalapeño corn bread or potato salad deviled eggs.

Veggie lovers can enjoy caramelized Brussels sprouts, shishito peppers, grilled avocado, and wood-grilled artichoke.

Fans of sushi and poke can taste dishes like ahi tuna and watermelon tostadas, salmon poké nachos, hamachi sashimi, and classic shrimp cocktail.

Get a taste of other Californian flavors such as grilled tequila-lime chicken tacos, angry crab bucatini, spinach and kale pizza, corn husk salmon, and so much more. There are also some more delicious favorites, including the spicy rigatoni served with peas and a savory sauce.

Brunch is served on weekends from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and you can enjoy tastes of Cali-Mex breakfast options like Mexican hash browns, huevos rancheros, costa mesa, Buena Vista Cobb salad, and more.

Taking a trip to the sweet side of Summer House on the Lake is where you’ll find mouthwatering desserts like gooey lemon cake, a seven-layer chocolate cake, chocolate peppermint pie, baked Alaska Key lime pie, and plenty of seasonal specialties.

The Cookie Bar

Summer House’s one-of-a-kind cookie bar serves up sugary flavors from classics to unique blends. You can get oversized cookies like sea salt chocolate chip, lemon, birthday cake, M&M, oatmeal scotchie, apple oatmeal, vegan snickerdoodle, and more.

You can also try giant treats and bars like the brown butter crispy rice treat, cookies and cream crispy treat, a brownie, and a blondie. We tried a couple of these, and they were the highlight of our night!

The Ambiance

Dining at Summer House on the Lake is nothing short of feeling like you’re on vacation. Dine outside and enjoy perfect views of the lake coupled with the warm feeling of an endless summer.

Seat yourself inside and be engulfed by ample greenery, vibrant warm tones, and sumptuous smells of Californian cuisine.

Overall

Disney is always adding some sort of fun, unique dining options to its belt, and we’re happy one of them is Summer House on the Lake. People come to Florida for our good weather and vacation-like lifestyle, and this restaurant does a great job at emphasizing both of those elements that people look for.
