Orlando’s TaKo Cheena is the place to go for Pan-Asian cuisine. Even though these two continents are on opposite sides of the planet, that hasn’t stopped anyone from fusing their cultures together. Let’s check out what’s cooking!
What is TaKo Cheena?
TaKo Cheena is an Asian fusion restaurant located on North Mills Avenue in Orlando’s Mills 50 district.
This restaurant is influenced by food truck culture and features a wide variety of unique flavor combinations. Each dish is cooked to order and is sure to leave your appetite feeling satisfied.
You can dine at TaKo Cheena on Sundays through Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m.
Big Bites, Little Buys
Latin food is notorious for coming in big portions for reasonable prices, and TaKo Cheena is not exempt from that notion.
For only $4.35, you can order some signature TaKos like the Asian braised brisket, Korean beef, Thai peanut chicken, Indian curry dusted tofu and Mary’s Greek little lamb. You can also do the “2 TaKo Special” for $8.50 or the “3 TaKo Special” for $11.99 with your choice of any of the signature TaKos!
There are also premium TaKos for $4.85 that include panko crusted cod and Tom Yum mojo shrimp.
If you’re more of a burrito person, then make sure you bring more than one stomach, because TaKo Cheena’s burritos are said to be “the size of a baby’s arm” with ½ pound of protein.
For $14.90, you can get the African inspired braised brisket, the Thai panang chicken, or the Korean beef burritos.
TaKo Cheena also serves Asian hot dogs, which include the Korean dog, the Bahi Mi dog, and the Japa dog.
For just $9.98, you can order an arepa where you pick your own protein, or you can get the Indian curry beef arepa. There’s also “La Reina,” which is a loaded arepa for just $2 more!
As for sides, you can order some Asian glaze chicken wangz, crispy Taylor tots, empanadas, yuca fries, and sweet plantains.
Saving the best for last comes dessert, which you can get for $3.98 a piece! The options include sopapilla chips, ginger apple empanadas, and crispy churro dippers.
For drinks, feel free to order a bottle of Mexican Coke, Jarritos, Malta, kombucha, Topo Chico, or just plain agua!
The Fiesta and the Vibes
Inspired by food trucks, TaKo Cheena brings street food to brick and mortar.
This building’s quirky design gives off food truck vibes, and the actual food truck on site helps solidify that fact. The outdoor seating coupled with the sounds of the city in the Mills 50 district provide a one-of-a-kind comfort you just can’t find at big-name chains!
With food as good as TaKo Cheena’s, you’ll be busting a happy dance to the Latin tunes that play in the background all night long.
Overall
When you’re torn between eating Asian or Latin food for dinner, make it an easy decision with TaKo Cheena. With unique menu items you can’t find just anywhere, you and your tongue will be leaving this place satisfied!
