With record high heat covering the state, there is no better way to cool off than in one of the many breathtaking springs that surround Orlando! From the ethereal beauty of crystal-clear waters to the underwater ecosystems teeming with life, these springs provide an escape into nature that is much needed this summer.

*Keep in mind that you should plan for early mornings because they may close due to capacity. Also, some springs do not allow pets or alcohol due to wild animals. Be sure to plan ahead!

Kelly Park Rock Springs

400 E Kelly Park Road, Apopka FL

30 - 50 mins from Orlando 

Entrance is $3 per vehicle (up to 2 people), $5 per vehicle (3-8 people), $1 walk-ins/bikes.

Located around 30 minutes northwest of Orlando, Kelly Park is home to Rock Springs, a natural spring that forms a gentle lazy river! Visitors can rent tubes for $10 (outside the park) and float down the entire spring, taking in the scenic beauty along the way. The park also features picnic areas, pavilions for rent, hiking trails, and a playground, making it a great destination for families!

Wekiwa Springs

1800 Wekiwa Cir, Apopka FL

30 - 50 mins from Orlando

Entrance is $4 single-person vehicle, $6 vehicle up to 8 ppl, $2 walk-ins/bikes. 

Rentals for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards range from $35 to $45 depending on how many hours rented. Bikes can also be rented for $10 an hour.

Situated just 30 minutes north of Downtown Orlando, Wekiwa Springs State Park offers a refreshing oasis in a natural setting. The main spring produces approximately 42 million gallons of water daily, forming the Wekiva River. Visitors can swim, kayak, or paddleboard in the clear waters, explore the park's hiking trails, or enjoy a picnic in the lush surroundings.

Blue Spring State Park

2100 W. French Ave, Orange City FL

40 mins - 1 hr from Orlando

Entrance is $4 single-person vehicle, $6 vehicle up to 8 ppl, $2 walk-ins/bikes. Camping is $24 a night, depending on vehicle. Cabin rentals are $95 a night.

Blue Spring State Park is a haven of natural beauty and aquatic wonders, located approximately 40 minutes north of Orlando on the St. Johns River . Visitors can enjoy a swim, snorkel, or dive in the crystal spring waters while marveling at the enchanting underwater life. The park is also renowned for its frequent visits from manatees, especially during the winter months! Beyond the water, Blue Spring State Park offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and opportunities for wildlife spotting.

De Leon Springs

Approximately an hour north of Orlando, De Leon Springs State Park offers a unique experience with its natural spring and historic sugar mill. Visitors can take a dip in the cool spring waters, go for a boat ride, or enjoy a scenic nature walk through one of the beautiful hiking trails. The park also hosts the Old Sugar Mill Pancake House, where visitors can cook their own pancakes at their table!

Silver Glen Springs

5271 Florida 19, Salt Springs FL

1 hr 15 mins - 1 hr 30 mins from Orlando 

Entrance is $12 per person. Vehicle reservations are $15 and highly recommended for weekends. Rentals for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards range from $20 to $40 depending on how many hours rented.

Silver Glen Springs is a natural spring located in the Ocala National Forest, approximately 60 miles northwest of Orlando. The spring is known for its crystal-clear waters that maintain a refreshing temperature of around 72 degrees year-round. This makes it an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. The water flows from a cavern, creating a serene and picturesque pool where locals can swim with fish!
