The Hideaway Bar

by Marissa Potts

Dolphins fans, this one’s for you! The Hideaway Bar located in Ivanhoe Village is the perfect spot for any football fan looking to grab a delicious burger or top rated wings. As the home of the Dolfan Club of Orlando and with Dolphins decor everywhere, this spot is a little piece of Miami in the heart of Orlando.

The Ambiance

The Hideaway Bar is located right off of Virginia Drive, and it can be a little tricky to find parking. We parked right across the street when we visited and it was only a short walk across the way. Upon arrival, Hideaway has a huge Dolphins mural on the exterior of their building to really get you in the spirit. The building is also painted in teal and orange. There is an indoor portion of the bar with pool tables, a few arcade games, and an adult vending machine. This is another place to look at their Dolphins decor, some of which is vintage! On the back patio you will find cornhole and outdoor seating that is smoking friendly. The front patio is smoking free, and has a great view of Virginia Drive! Of course, there are plenty of TVs all around the bar to catch the game any day of the week.

Food & Drink

This bar features your favorite classic bar food and drinks but made deliciously fresh to order. The wings are some of the best we’ve had in Orlando. On the menu you’ll find sandwiches, quesadillas, cheese sticks, fried pickles, burgers, wings, and of course, beer. Some of these are also themed for Dolphins fans like the Hot Marino Sub, served with roast beef, ham, swizz, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, mayo, mustard, and Italian dressing.

We got the veggie burger which was also delicious, and like I mentioned before, the wings. We weren’t sure if the wings would live up to the hype, but our server told us they were known for them. Surely enough, they were incredible! Along with the beer, Hideaway also has a full service bar and an assortment of non-alcoholic offerings like tea and juice. Be sure to check out their rotating beer menu though, because you’ll probably spot some unique and locally made brews!

Overall

We’ve been checking out some of the best sports bars in Orlando this football season and The Hideaway Bar is definitely one of our new favorites! Check them out for Dolphins memorabilia, delicious sports food and drinks, and outdoor dining with corn hole! Wherever you watch the games this season, best of luck to your team!

Ivanhoe Village

Ivanhoe village is the perfect spot in Orlando for those who like to live life a little artistically! This is an area of Orlando that is full of culture, art, small shops, and delicious food. Some of my favorite places in this area are the Mosaic Hair Studio and Blowout Bar, and Santiago Bodega for delicious late night tapas. Some others include Hall on the Yard and the GB Bottle Shop & Tasting Bar, both within walking distance from The Hideaway Bar! In this area you’ll find homes on beautiful brick roads, most within walking distance of local restaurants and shops. Located less than ten minutes from Downtown, Mills 50, and Winter Park, there is no shortage of fun things to do in this area. Interested in homes in Ivanhoe village?
