The Neighbors: Retail and Cocktail

If you’re looking for a casual bar setting, snacks, and drinks all built into a store with exclusively local goods, The Neighbors may be perfect for you. This artistic and unique spot is located in East End Market and has so much to offer.

What is it?

The Neighbors was a concept created by the creator of freehand goods, DOMU, and Market owner, John Rife. The whole idea behind the location is to create a space that has high end cocktails, an experimental kitchen, and give local small business owners a space to show their stuff and build their small business. If you’ve ever been to East End Market, this spot blends in perfectly with everything else it has to offer.

When you walk into East End Market and make your way to the back, you’ll see an elevator door painted with a green door handle. This takes you right upstairs into The Neighbors! The theming is really what sets the location apart with fun colors and murals. It’s really made for your next group photo!

What’s for Sale?

No matter what you’re interested in, you’ll find something cute and local here! From t-shirts and stickers to jewelry and succulents, there’s something for everyone. There were some standouts when I went, including succulents a little bigger than my thumb in hand painted mini vases, and jewelry made from dried fruits! You can find hot sauce, candles, snacks, drinks and more and it’s all local!

Drinks & Snacks

Overall, the menu had a nice variety of crafted cocktails! It also includes the option to order a meat and cheese plate to pair with your drink, or you can make a dinner reservation for Camille before your visit. This is a pop-up dinner series, with a modern approach to Vietnamese cuisine, every Wednesday through Saturday that offers an intimate 8-seat Chef-to-guest setting.

If you have a mood you’re trying to match your drink with, they have something perfect for you. I asked for something a little more relaxed, something that felt like a tiki drink. The bartender recommended the “Wekiva Island”, a tequila based drink with pineapple, coconut, and cinnamon. I was a little nervous because I expected rum, but this drink was out of this world. The perfect mixture of the almost salty tinge of Tequila mixed with the sweet and smooth pineapple and cinnamon was delicious. Next time I go, I’ll try the Baldwin. This Gin drink is packed with melon bitters, aloe liquor, lime, and vanilla. It sounds like an interesting flavor profile!

Overall

The Neighbors fits in perfectly to East End Market as another stand out example of what Orlando has to offer. The drinks are amazing, the store is filled with a nice taste of local items, and the setting is comfortable and relaxed. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a date night or just to hangout with friends!
