The Wildflower in Baldwin Park

By Yasmene Warren

There are plenty of places around Orlando to grab a drink, but not all of them bring the kind of vibe that this Baldwin Park bar does. We ventured over to The Wildflower, and its offerings definitely put the “wild” in its namesake. Let’s check it out!

All About The Wildflower

The Wildflower is a cocktail bar on New Broad Street in the heart of Baldwin Park with a new location in Downtown Sanford.

This bar is a part of Baldwin Park’s Colibri, a Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurant bringing both classic and fusion Mexican flavors to its diners. Unlike Colibri, however, The Wildflower brings Baldwin Park a different kind of vibe. Its atmosphere is cool and calming, and its drinks bring tastes that sure know how to please the palate.

The Wildflower also serves food, so if you’re not in the mood to drink but don’t want something too heavy on your stomach, this spot certainly has something for you.

Catch the bartenders in action Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to midnight and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Dip in during The Wildflower’s happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays for some specials on their delicious drinks!

Bottom’s Up!: What to Drink at The Wildflower

mixed drink with lit up sign behindIf you love to drink, you’ll have a hay day trying to decide what to get at The Wildflower.

This bar’s house cocktails combine unique flavors that are hard to find just anywhere. Order a Cold Noodle and sip on tastes of coconut fat-washed rum, cucumber, pineapple, sesame, dem, lime, and chili.

This drink tastes just as sweet as its namesake sings. Order H.E.R. and see how flavors of gin, vanilla-lavender tea, tropical oleo, meyer lemon, and honey come together to send your taste buds on a trip to FlavorTown.

Go classic and order cocktails like Saturn with gin, velvet falernum, passion fruit, orgeat, and lemon or El Diablo with tequila, crème de cassis, lime, and ginger beer.

Not in the mood for a cocktail? The Wildflower also offers beers, seltzers, and wines to tickle everyone’s fancy.

The Bites

For the foodies, this bar brings classic Mexican bites that are packed full of flavor. You can order mojo pork bites, arepas, garlic shrimp and chorizo, birria quesadillas, empanadas, and queso frito.white paper menu

Dine late at night from 10 p.m. to close and you can try The Wildflower’s mini tacos or guacamole fresco.

We tried the birria quesadilla that came complete with consome to dip them in, and they truly left our mouths watering. The melty cheese mixed with the shredded beef between two crispy tortillas offers tastes you won’t find lurking at just any Orlando bar.

While you await your tasty drinks and food, play a game of darts. If you practice enough, maybe you’ll get lucky and land a bullseye like I did!
