General Info

Universal’s Holiday Parade happens every day from November 12, 2022, until January 1, 2023. Most days the parade will start at 5:30 pm unless the park closes at 6pm, in which case the parade starts at 5pm. The parade lasts for about a half hour and is always held at the Universal Studios side of the park so please make sure you have a ticket! The parade is free for all guests with a valid Universal Studios ticket and is perfect for guests of all ages.

Floats & Entertainment

There are so many amazing floats and characters to see during the parade (including one extra special guest at the end)! As the parade starts, you will see ballroom dancers on stilts in gorgeous costumes! You will also see the very first float (a blue and white snowflake) to signify the start of the parade! Make sure you have your camera out because next you are going to see your favorite characters from movies such as Despicable Me, Madagascar, and Shrek!

There are three Despicable Me floats; one with Minions hiding in a Christmas tree, one with Gru & the girls, and a third with mischief causing Minions. There are also three Madagascar floats; one with the penguins of Madagascar, one with King Julien and his biggest fans, and the third features Gloria, Melman, Marty, and Alex. The final series of floats is dedicated to Shrek. The first part is a giant Gingerbread Man balloon, followed by a float carrying the Three Little Pigs, and another carrying the Three Blind Mice, and following them, of course, is The Big Bad Wolf. Next up is Donkey, on his very own float, and he is followed by a giant balloon version of one of the donkey-dragon babies. Puss in Boots and some residents of Duloc make their way down the street after Donkey. The Shrek portion of the parade ends with Santa Shrek, Fiona, the Dragon, and Pinocchio!

The parade closes with a classic Christmas feel. Toys such as robots and letter blocks “come to life”. There is a cool Nutcracker balloon that floats down the street and following that, are Santa’s elves! Santa’s elves and his famous reindeer dance before the most special guest of all – Santa Clause!

Overall

This is one of the most special and fun parades that Universal does. The parade is filled with laughter, fun, and joy! It is perfect for every member of your family from the kids to the kids at heart. It is really cool to be able to see the famous Macy’s parade right here in Orlando! It is also special to be able to see your favorite characters and Santa Claus! I highly recommend seeing this parade at least once if you happen to be in Orlando during the holiday season!
