Construction crews are close to the finish line on the 186 S. Main St. address of Harlow Grove Restaurant & Bar. The two-story venue will offer three unique spaces, is preparing to fill positions, and will join additional tenants in the new Smith & Main building.

Distinct spaces

Harlow Grove will open in March and is billed as “a space that’s carefully curated but never intimidating, where ease and style coexist.” The website is in progress, but sections of interior illustrations posted to Instagram offer a small peek at what’s to come. A media release lists three distinct spaces:

  1. A lounge available for dining, socializing, and cocktails
  2. A second-floor dining room and full service bar with “a buzzing bar atmosphere.”
  3. An open-air terrace with tables set beneath the branches of a century-old oak tree

Inspired interiors and flavors

Venues by Harlow Grove parent company, Knallhart Management Group, include Plant Street eateries Harrell’s Hot Dogs + Cold Cones, The Whole Enchilada, and AJ's Pizza Joint. Knallhart Marketing Director Ashley Alejo told The Orlando Real Harlow Grove decor is partially inspired by the company’s Ft. Lauderdale restaurant, The Wilder. A look at The Wilder website reveals an opulent lounge and decorative bar that bears some resemblance to the Harlow Grove illustrations.

The release also describes a menu inspired by “flavors around the world while remaining grounded in approachable staples.” Shareable dishes like Short Rib Dip and Heirloom Burrata will join entrees such as Baby Back Ribs and Lobster Lasagna. A weekend brunch will include a Pastry Tower and Chicken Chop Salad.

The beverage selection will include cocktails, wine, low-ABV and alcohol-free options, and selections exclusive to the brunch menu.

New neighbors

Aside from Harlow Grove, the Smith & Main complex will house the second location of quick-service breakfast business, Eggdose; currently in the City Food Hall at 1412 Alden Road. Upscale barbershop Monarch Men's Lounge and Pure Barre round out the first-floor lessees while second-floor spaces remain available.

The building exterior is complete and interior spaces look to be in the painting and finishing process. Alejo said Harlow Grove will be moving in furnishings and decor within days.

New jobs

A sign outside the building advertises front and back of house positions. The list is as follows:

Front of House: management, bartender, barback, server, lounge server, greeter, food runner
Back of House: management, line cook, prep cook, dishwasher

Resumes can be sent to HarlowGrove@Knallhart.com or submitted in person, Monday-Friday, at 553 W. Plant Street.
