When it comes to family fun in Orlando, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. On the hunt for somewhere to take the kids that will keep them out of the excruciating summer heat? We have a few places in mind.
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Travel back to an age of noble warriors, elegant royals, and exciting battles at Medieval Times Orlando. During a four-course feast, guests enjoy a tournament between fierce and well-trained knights as they compete for the favor of the Queen. By showcasing skills in weaponry, horsemanship, falconry, and more, one knight will prove himself worthy of the title “champion of the realm” over this almost two-hour experience.
Guests are seated in sections that cheer for a specific knight, making the event even more exciting and lively. There are two shows each evening, with one at 5 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m., and there are other experiences, like the Knighting Ceremony, that can make the night extra memorable for kids.
Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum

If the strange and unusual calls to you and your family, odds are you’ll find something of interest at Ripley’s Believe It or Not. The museum is full of items like a shrunken head, interactives like a video wall streaming space launches, and bizarre experiences like Ripley’s Mirror Maze.
With hundreds of exhibits, Ripley’s Believe It or Not is a place that you can spend hours exploring and still have more to discover. It’s open until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday (midnight Friday and Saturday), making it a perfect nighttime activity. (It's also a great spot to escape Orlando’s nearly daily rain showers if you're exploring I-Drive!)
Escapology Orlando

If you’ve ever visited an escape room, you know it can be an intense experience, but also a fun family bonding activity. Escapology Orlando, located on I-Drive, has ten games to choose from, each with a different mission, from finding the Mona Lisa painting to solving a murder at a mansion (see what I mean by intense?).
For younger kids, there are more family-friendly games, like a Scooby-Doo adventure or a kids version of the "Mansion Murder". Escapology also offers Kids Mode, a series of rooms with puzzles and stories designed specifically for children aged 7-14. Just note, though, that Kids Mode is a parent-free zone, so if you want to complete a mission as a family, opt for a regular room.
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Orlando

Feel the need for speed? Experience it and a rush of adrenaline at Andretti Indoor Karting. Race through a track with hairpin turns, sudden inclines, and long stretches where you can really put the pedal to the metal. Andretti also has Mini Mario karts for little drivers between 4 and 7 years old.
After karting, you can head to Andretti’s arcade, which has new video games as well as childhood classics. Or, keep the excitement alive with a game of laser tag or a ride on the 7D Experience, a 3D attraction with special effects that will leave you feeling as if you just fought (and defeated) a legion of enemies.
Kings Dining & Entertainment Orlando

Bowling is one of the most universally family-friendly activities, and at Kings Dining & Entertainment Orlando you can enjoy a game in a luxurious, retro environment. With light-up signs and other decor reminiscent of the Golden Age of bowling, everyone will have a blast, even if they’re hitting the gutter more than strikes.
You can also enjoy a gourmet dining experience at Kings, with a menu of shareable appetizers, pizza, wings, and more. Reserve a table to get a bite before or after you hit the lanes. You can also reserve a bowling lane, but if there are none listed, walk-ins are still encouraged.
Overall
With the end of summer on the horizon, it’s time to get in all the family activities before the kids head back to classes and extracurriculars. Any of the places we listed would make for an awesome outing, but Orlando is full of great locations to check out. So go out, make memories, and, most importantly, have fun!
