Discover More About Horizon West, FL
Despite its significant growth over the past five to ten years, Horizon West is classified only as a census-designated place at the moment, as opposed to a city or town. Because of this, Horizon West residents have Winter Garden or Windermere addresses, even though these communities are technically located further to the north and northeast. Winter Garden is about a 15 to 20-minute drive north, while Windermere is about 15-minutes to the northeast.
Horizon West is part of Orange County, and centers on Highway 429 (the Daniel Webster Western Beltway). As of 2020, its population was nearing 50,000 people. Horizon West has numerous lakes and new neighborhoods, making this a great alternative to some of the larger communities in this region.
Explore Horizon West Real Estate
Horizon West is, as a growing community, a mixture of residential, commercial/industrial, and unimproved land. Its southern end in particular has seen a lot of development, and is home to a number of growing neighborhoods. The real estate market in and of itself is primarily single-family homes, although new construction townhomes (much like the rest of the Greater Orlando Area) are becoming more popular. There are also a few low-rise condo buildings in this community. Horizon West offers that comforting, suburban feeling that many homebuyers are looking for.
Single-family homes for sale in Horizon West include a range of styles and price points. From Craftsman to Mediterranean, bungalows and multi-story homes, there’s a lot of choice for the prospective buyer. Plus, Horizon West has attracted a lot of attention, for its homes are, on average, more affordable than Winter Garden and Windermere. Townhomes in this area are quite substantial in size and square footage, typically with two to three bedrooms and bathrooms as an entry point. In contrast, Horizon West's detached homes for sale offer even more, with 2,000 square foot properties being at the lower end of the market—although location is also a factor.
As Horizon West develops, more and more neighborhoods with new construction homes are popping up on the market. New neighborhoods such as Water Spring, Storey Grove, and Winding Bay are all located in the southern portion of Horizon West. Most of these new neighborhoods and developments are a mixture of (in a mix of affordable and luxury) single-family homes and townhomes, with great amenities for residents. Orchard Hills, Summerport, Waterleigh, Wickham Park, Summerlake, and many more have their own clubhouse, as an example. Additionally, these neighborhoods are safe for families, with parks and new schools being built in these areas.
