Discover More About Saint Cloud, FL

Saint Cloud (often abbreviated as “St. Cloud”) is a mid-sized city in Osceola County, Florida. It is located on East Lake Tohopekaliga, about 30-40 minutes south of Downtown Orlando. This beautiful city is a popular alternative to living in Orlando, as it offers a ton of amenities and is a great option for families. As of 2021, the city of Saint Cloud is home to roughly 62,000 people.

The city of Kissimmee is found directly to the northwest of Saint Cloud, with Hunters Creek a little further northward, and Lake Nona on the opposite side of the lake. While smaller, rural communities and developments surround the city, much of the area to the east, south, and west is untouched land, farms, and lakes. Saint Cloud is found between Florida’s Turnpike and the East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

The real estate market in Saint Cloud is quite hot, as the population has been steadily rising since 2000—with another significant boom in the year 2010. As the demand for property increases, new developments are always underway, and the Saint Cloud market is where you’ll find a number of new construction homes.

Although mainly detached, single-family homes, Saint Cloud also has a number of condos and townhomes for homebuyers to choose from. Architecturally, new homes tend to put a modern twist on more traditional styles, which includes Florida Coastal, Craftsman, and Farmhouse-inspired designs.

The Saint Cloud area includes the developments of Narcoossee (north), Sunbridge (north), and Harmony (southeast). These regions, the city included, offer potential homebuyers more affordable options, in comparison to some of the other Central Florida communities. Starting at lower price points means that buyers are able to get a lot more for their money, and homes (even townhomes) are quite spacious. Older properties, majority of which are ranch style bungalows, are a great opportunity to own a home in an up-and-coming area, as they also start at lower price points.

Communities, such as Harmony, offer a bit of that more private feeling. Harmony is also ever-expanding, and is located on the area’s golf course. Situated on Buck Lake, this community also has parks, a unified style to the architecture, and three schools.

There are also luxury homes for sale in Saint Cloud. Because this area is typically more affordable, luxury estates are equipped with spectacular views and large lot sizes. Of course, one of the most desirable features of any Florida property is a lakefront or waterfront location—and Saint Cloud luxury homes offer just that.

Saint Cloud Highlights & Amenities

Although Saint Cloud is still an area that is considered under development, that isn’t to say that there is nothing to do in the area. The city’s beautiful location surrounded by multiple lakes and marshes means that there are many opportunities for outdoor recreation. Boating, for example, is a popular pastime, as well as fishing.

The area around Saint Cloud is quite rural, so there are many preserves, parks, and natural areas. Twin Oaks Conservation Area and Cherokee Point Conservation Area are located directly west of the city, while Lakefront Park and Marina are found in the center of the city, on East Lake Toho. The latter includes a splash pad, playground, beach, grassy areas, and pier. Other area parks include Lake Runnymede Conservation Area and Peghorn Nature Park, as well as wildlife parks, such as Amazing Animals and Reptile World Serpentarium.

But the community of Saint Cloud is also vibrant. The monthly market (the last Wednesday of each month) is hosted in the historic downtown area of the city, and is where residents can shop from local businesses or take part in events. While there are shops and restaurants located off of the highway (13th Street), 10th Street and New York Avenue, with their brick streets and quaint shops, are a must-see. Lake Nona Medical City, roughly 20 minutes away, is another major pro to living in this area.
