Hunters Creek is a master-planned community in Orange County, about 16 miles south of Downtown Orlando. It is located just off of South Orange Blossom Trail (US-92/Highway 17), and centers on where the Central Florida GreeneWay (417) and South John Young Parkway meet. As of 2020, the population of Hunters Creek is just under 20,000.
This community is conveniently located close to many of the area’s attractions and theme parks, including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and the Orlando International Airport. To the south is the city of Kissimmee, and to the southwest is the community of Celebration. Doctor Phillips and Orlando are found to the north.

Mixing commercial, residential, and undeveloped land, the community’s real estate market is made up of mostly single-family homes. Hunters Creek offers a quiet, suburban atmosphere, with a number of exclusive gated communities for added safety and security.
Great for families, this area is an exciting and more competitively priced alternative to Orlando—and is only a short drive away. There is a lot of choice in regards to properties for prospective homebuyers, from Mediterranean style townhomes and small condos, to beautiful, traditional single-family homes, all at a range of price points.
Condos for sale in Hunters Creek typically start at about 750 square feet and only go up from there, averaging at about 1,000 square feet. This is, of course, dependent on the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in the unit, as well as the building itself. There are a number of apartment complexes in the community, including Camden, Capri, Urbana, Audubon Villa, and more, each of which provide their residents with unique amenities. These can include pools and fitness centers, outdoor entertaining areas, and tennis courts. Because Hunters Creek is home to a golf course, there are even units that back onto the green.
When it comes to single-family homes, these are available at a range of price points, from more moderately-priced suburban homes to larger, luxury properties. Many of the homes for sale in Hunters Creek are bungalows, although there are also a number of 2-story properties. Square footage ranges for both property types—with some of the largest homes being a single story home. Backyard pools (enclosed to protect from the sun and from bugs) are a popular feature of homes for sale in Hunters Creek.
There are many gated communities within Hunters Creek. With limited access and quiet streets, this makes the area ideal for growing families. Some of the private communities are located on the Hunters Creek golf course, which offers exceptional landscaping and well-maintained properties; an ideal place to call home for avid golfers. Hunters Creek Highlights & Amenities
This Florida community is excellently located just minutes away from some of the area’s popular attractions. Walt Disney World is about a 15-minute drive from Hunters Creek, while Universal Studios is about 20. Gatorland is found just outside the community on Orange Blossom Trail.
Although much of Hunters Creek is residential, the community has several shops and restaurants located in the various malls and plazas along the South John Young Parkway and Town Center Boulevard. These are largely chain stores and restaurants, including fast food. In the city of Kissimmee, which is just a quick drive south, you’ll find two large malls: The Crosslands Shopping Center and The Loop Kissimmee.
For the kids, there are several green spaces and parks around the community, although some require ID for access and only allow entry for Hunters Creek residents. Parks feature playgrounds and large green fields, baseball diamonds, volleyball courts, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Calabay Park is situated on Lake Calabay and is a great place to hang out by the water. There are also walking/hiking trails around Hunters Creek.
There are three schools in this community: West Creek Elementary School, Hunters Creek Elementary School, Hunters Creek Middle School. Area high schools include Freedom High School, Cypress Creek High School, and Osceola County School for the Arts. There are also two daycare centers and a preschool within Hunters Creek.

While neither spelling is wrong, the Community Association and area signage uses “Hunter’s Creek”, whilst the official census uses the “Hunters Creek” variation. Hunters Creek is a community in Central Florida, and alligator sightings are not rare. Luckily, however, most alligators can be found at Gatorland.
