Apenberry’s Gardens

Apenberry’s Gardens is located in College Park and started as a small plant shop in 1997. It is run by Lisa and Eric Apen and is now a 1.5 acre neighborhood garden center. This center sells a variety of plants, and even delivers them to local Orlando neighborhoods. A variety of plants are available for purchase, and plant loving employees are available to teach you all you need to know about your new acquisition.

The Plants

Finding a locally owned Orlando plant shop is such a treat, because there aren’t a ton out there. Smaller shops like Apenberry’s are able to give you the one on one attention that larger department stores aren’t able to offer. You’re also supporting local families and communities when you shop there! I was so excited to visit Apenberry’s for the first time, and it did not disappoint.

The outdoor area which showcases their plants for sale was so beautiful. There are so many different types of plants available to take home. One of my favorite things about the shop was that there were little placards near each of the plants that described the best care for that species. On these included information such as light and water levels, the best type of soil for the plant, and more.

For anyone that is new to having plants in the home, this shop makes it easy to figure out which plants would be best suited to your lifestyle. They also had a variety of edible plants for purchase, such as eggplant and arugula. These were super fun as well, and the placards near these edible varieties described the different flavor profiles of each plant. They also explained what each food was typically used for.

On their website, you can schedule a delivery for a plant from the shop if you live within 20 miles of their store. There is a delivery fee, but this was something new that I haven’t seen before, and it sounded fun to have your new plants delivered to your door!

Goods and Products

At the front of the Garden center there is a retail store that has so many goods inside. Ranging from plant caretaking items like soil and pots, to skincare products like soaps and bath salts. There was also a fridge with drinks like sodas and sparkling waters inside to enjoy while you shop. The indoor retail store also had more plants inside, and decorations for your home that have a super natural and unique vibe.

Overall

If you’re interested in learning about plants but don’t know where to start, give Apenberry’s a try. Their friendly staff and knowledge about plants will keep you on course to be the best plant parent out there. Guests can browse through the many, many different plants they have in their store or also order plants and have them delivered to their door!

Have you ever been to Apenberry’s Gardens? What’s your favorite plant and garden center?
