Best Rides for Babies & Toddlers at Universal Orlando

When you think of Universal Orlando, its easy to imagine it being a place for teenagers and adults because of all of their thrilling attractions. In reality, there is actually quite a few fun things for babies and toddlers to do there too! Here is a list of everything that you and your little one can do together in Universal Orlando!

Seuss Landing

This adorable, colorful and fun land is themed after Dr. Seuss stories and is perfect for all ages. You can find this kid-friendly land in the Islands of Adventure side of Universal Orlando. There are four baby/toddler friendly rides here, character meet and greets and lots of fun shows.

Caro-Seuss-el

This fun and unique take on a carousel features Dr Seuss characters to ride upon rather than the traditional horses. This is the first carousel to ever feature creatures that the riders could control. Riders may pull on the reigns of the creature or push the lever on their necks to move them up and down. There is no height requirement for this ride, however, guests under 48 inches must be accompanied by an adult. For those who do not wish to ride on one of the Dr. Seuss characters, there is a fun bench on the Caro-Seuss-el that you can ride on.

The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!

The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride is more aimed towards toddlers and small children as the minimum height requirement is 36 inches. This ride has a fun queue that features the story of “The Sneetches” by Dr. Seuss. When you board one of the two slow moving trolleys, one will continue the story of the Sneetches while the other will take you through the ABCs of some other favorite Dr. Seuss tales. This ride has some really great views of Seuss Landing. This ride is very similar to the PeopleMover over at Walt Disney World.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

This fun fish-themed ride is Universal’s take on the Dumbo ride at Disney World. It is essentially the same ride, except you are riding in fish instead of elephants. Also, you can control the fish to move up and down but look out- you may get wet! Make sure to listen to the instructions in the song that’s being played on the ride if you wish to stay dry! One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is perfect for babies and toddlers because it is a fun and exciting high-in-the-sky adventure. There is no height requirement for this ride so everyone in your party can join in on the fun!

The Cat in the Hat

Have you ever wanted to jump inside of one of the most beloved children’s books of all time and watch the pages come to life? The Cat in the Hat ride does that and so much more! Guests will board a moving couch and go on a wacky adventure that literally takes you right inside The Cat in the Hat story. This ride twists and turns a lot so if you or your child experience motion sickness, you may want to skip this ride. There is a minimum height requirement of 36 inches to ride.

E.T Adventure

E.T Adventure is a classic, opening day attraction that takes you on adventure to help E.T save his home planet. Riders will board a bike and gently fly through the skies. This is a dark ride and there are some slightly intense scenes featuring “bad guys” but overall the ride is very tame. There is a minimum height requirement of 34 inches so it is perfect for toddlers and small children. If you want to board the famous bike with E.T, head over to the Universal Studios side of the park and let your imagination soar!

Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster

Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster is a perfect “starter coaster” for your little one. Although this is still considered a thrill ride, it is still very much kid-friendly! This coaster does feature some wacky twists and turns but there are no big drops. The queue for this ride is especially fun for all guests-there are little riddles throughout to keep you entertained. Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster is located in Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone in Universal Studios.

Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl

Don’t let the name fool you- this attraction is perfect for guests of all ages! The fun Simpsons themed ride will take you up to 10 feet off of the ground and travel at a max speed of 13mph. Riders will get to ride in their very own flying saucer and even get a chance to “zap” some beloved Simpsons characters! This family-friendly attraction is located in Springfield USA: Home of the Simpsons section of Universal Studios.

Pteranodon Flyers

Do you have an adventurous little one that loves dinosaurs? Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to know what it feels like to soar through the skies as a Pteranodon? Well, if so, this is the perfect ride for you and your little one! In this ride, you will be suspended in your own individual seat below the wings of a Pteranodon and soar over Jurassic Park. It is very thrilling and offers a unique vantage point of all of the excitement below! The ride is very gentle and moves very slowly but if you or your little one have a fear of heights, I would suggest skipping this ride. Pteranodon Flyers is specifically designed for little ones so guests over 56 inches tall may not ride this ride without being accompanied by a child. The height requirement for this ride is 36 inches. Pteranodon Flyers is located in the Jurassic Park section of Islands of Adventure.

Overall, there is much less to do for babies here than at Walt Disney World but there is still a lot of thrilling rides for toddlers and small children. Seuss Landing alone will keep your baby or toddler occupied for hours. Universal Orlando is definitely worth doing and now you don’t have to worry about what your baby or toddler will do there in order to have fun! There is a lot to see and explore around both sides of Universal Orlando. In addition to rides, there are plenty of fun and entertaining shows for little ones to watch and lots of opportunities to meet their favorite characters.
