Locals and visitors alike can now enjoy an exciting experience in Downtown Orlando!
Luminary Green, the city’s newest park in Creative Village, will be the site of a new show highlighting all the things that make Orlando special.
What is it?
The City of Orlando launched “Luminary Nights on the Green” Wednesday night, a light and sound show featuring footage throughout the city, from popular attractions to natural elements like wetlands.

What makes the show especially unique is that it’s projected on Luminary Green’s new ORLANDO sign, which was unveiled as part of the Orlando Unbelievably Real (OUR) Culture Project (more on that below). For 20 minutes, projections paired with music play out across the letters of the gigantic sign, creating a colorful display of city pride.

The show, which is family-friendly and free to the public, will run continuously every night from dusk to 10 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of chances to catch the full thing!
“Having this one-of-a-kind feature, you won’t find anywhere else, takes these amenities to another level, further enhancing our downtown and providing another attraction for people to come check out...”
Mayor Buddy Dyer
OUR Culture Project
The OUR Culture Project is a multi-year plan to create sites and experiences that unify and engage Orlando residents. It’s made possible by the city’s collaboration with Visit Orlando and the Orlando Economic Partnership, and it’s part of the overarching “Unbelievably Real” brand platform that markets the many wonderful things about Orlando to people across the country.
In fact, as part of the project, the city and the organizations created an additional one-minute segment to project on the ORLANDO sign. Included in “Luminary Nights on the Green,” “Awakening” showcases Orlando cultural projects in a spectacular visualization.

About Luminary Green and Creative Village
Luminary Green is a 2.3-acre park that provides a place to gather for city residents, employees, and students in Creative Village and surrounding areas. Key features include a circular trellis, the cornerstone and a shaded area of the park, and the Luminary Green Memorials, light fixtures honoring the memory and legacy of those who served the Parramore Community, Orlando's oldest and largest African-American neighborhood.
Creative Village builds on the heritage of the historic Parramore neighborhood, bringing new educational and business opportunities to residents, as well as wide-ranging housing options. It lies in the heart of Downtown Orlando and is home to sites like the University of Central Florida’s downtown campus and Valencia College. It is also in close proximity to the greater life that lies within the city.
Overall
Creative Village is constantly growing, and “Luminary Nights on the Green” is just one more thing to enjoy in the downtown district. If you need a reminder about why Orlando is so great, check out the show—and maybe find inspiration for your next Orlando attraction to explore!
