Jeff’s Bagel Run comes full circle with Horizon West location

Jeff’s Bagel Run is continuing a successful expansion with a location coming to the growing Horizon West community later this year. Since starting as a small-batch bakery in the Winter Garden area, the company has earned legions of fans and expanded across multiple states.

Small beginnings

Jeff and Danielle Perera founded Jeff’s Bagel Run in 2019. The business started as a craving Danielle had for New York-style bagels with Jeff trying to recreate the right balance of flavor and texture at home. They eventually began selling Jeff's bagels at farmers' markets and community events in Winter Garden and Horizon West. Their first store opened in Ocoee and it didn't take long for word to spread.

Growing fast

The brand earned a loyal following with a wide range of flavors and a signature coffee blend. Locations are built around a kitchen design that puts the bagel-making process in full view and guests can choose from a menu of cream cheese spreads.

The company launched a franchise program in 2024, opening 37 locations across 10 states. They also have more than 100 new stores in development. Central Florida locations currently number 13 and include Orlando, Winter Park, Clermont, Apopka, Lake Mary, and Celebration.

Coming home

One of the “in development” stores will bring direct customer sales back to Horizon West. The new location will be the company's first in the community and will reside in Hamlin Town Center at 5360 Hamlin Groves Trail. Jeff’s Bagel Run VP of Marketing Catriona Harris told The Orlando Real the company’s rate of expansion is a point of pride, but the local shops hit a little different.

"We're a Central Florida-based company and getting to expand right here at home is a big deal for us,” she said. “We've been lucky enough to open across multiple states, but choosing to put a company location right here in Hamlin says something we mean: the market that made us is one we want to keep building in. A community like this one - young, active families settling in - is exactly where we like to be."

Keeping it simple

Store layouts and menus don’t change from one location to the next and that, too, is a point of pride.

"We're deliberate about what we put on the menu," Harris said. "Trends matter to us, but they're not the whole story. We add things because our regulars are actually asking for them, and because they meet our scratch-made standard.”

A Jeff’s Bagel Run collaboration with Jeremiah's Italian Ice is available until Aug. 23 with unique ice-cream-inspired cream cheeses, specialty bagels, and summer drinks.

What else is coming to Hamlin Town Center

Jeff's Bagel Run is expected to open in Horizon West by the end of the year and is among several businesses coming to Hamlin Town Center. According to Orange County permits and local reports, the list includes Chipotle, Outback Steakhouse, Mayday Handcrafted Ice Cream and Cookies, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a new Publix store.

Stay tuned for more developments.
