Lynx riders may see several changes across the public bus and mass transit system in the coming months. Ridership and community input are guiding proposals ranging from the elimination of certain stops to adjusting a number of schedules. The changes would affect 22 routes and begin on December 13, if they are approved at the October 22 meeting of the Lynx Board of Directors.

What could change

Lynx is proposing the elimination of one route: Link 701 (West Oaks Mall-Orange Technical College). Service can be substituted by NeighborLinks 811 and 812.

Additional changes up for vote are as follows:

Link 1 (Winter Park Village-Maitland Center): Discontinuing all Saturday service and discontinuing weekday service at 8:20 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. from Winter Park SunRail.
Link 10 (E. U.S. 192-St. Cloud): Discontinuing weekday service at 4:05 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., Saturday service at 4:10 a.m., Sunday service at 10 p.m., and trips from Lynx Kissimmee Intermodal Station to U.S. 192/Live Oak.
Link 56 (W. U.S. 192-Magic Kingdom): Discontinuing weekday 4:14 a.m. and 4:43 a.m. trips from Plaza del Sol to LYNX Kissimmee Intermodal Station.
Link 102 (Orange Ave.-S. U.S. 17-92): Changing Sunday service after 6:45 p.m. to operate every 60 minutes and changing Sunday 9:15 p.m. trip departing Lynx Central Station to 9:45 p.m.
Link 426 (Poinciana Circulator): Discontinuing weekday 5:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. trips from Poinciana Walmart.
Link 6 (Dixie Belle Drive-Bumby Ave.): Discontinuing service between Colonial Plaza SuperStop and Lakemont Avenue/Aloma Avenue.
Link 43 (Winter Park-Lee Rd.-Pine Hills): Weekday routing will be similar to weekend routing at Lakemont Ave./Aloma Rd.
Link 311 (Disney-MCO-Destination Pkwy Express): Discontinuing service on Tradeshow Blvd. and using Universal Blvd. on eastbound trips towards MCO.
FastLink 407 (Kissimmee-MCO-Medical City): Reducing daily service to Lake Nona. Changing the route to Landstar Blvd., Meadow Woods SunRail, Wetherbee Road, and discontinuing service on SR 417. All local stops between Kissimmee Intermodal and MCO will continue.

The following routes could experience schedule adjustments:

Link 13 (University Blvd.-Winter Park)
Link 18 (S. Orange Ave.-Kissimmee)
Link 20 (Malibu St.-Pine Hills-Washington Shores)
Link 23 (Winter Park-Rosemont-Altamonte Springs)
Link 26 (Pleasant Hill Rd.-Poincianna)
Link 36 (Lake Richmond)
Link 42 (Intl. Dr.-Oak Ridge Rd.-MCO)
Link 51 (Conway Rd.)
Link 57 (John Young Pkwy)
Link 107 (OBT-FL Mall)

Additions

Link 48 (W. Colonial Dr.-Powers Dr.): Saturday service frequency would increase to every 30 minutes until 7:45 p.m.

Link 49 (W. Colonial Dr.-Powers Rd.): Saturday service frequency would increase to every 30 minutes until 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 12:15 a.m. trips would be added from Lynx Central Station to Rosemont SuperStop.

Opportunities for feedback

Public meetings regarding the changes took place in September, but additional input will be accepted through 5 p.m., October 12 at golynx.com/contactus.

Lynx services

If approved, the adjustments would begin as Orange County considers advancing the STAR plan. The rapid transit proposal includes new funding options for future rail and Lynx bus route expansions.

Lynx currently operates 72 local routes in intervals of 15-, 30-, and 60-minute, depending on the location. Standard fares are $2 for a single trip or $4.50 for an all-day pass on standard local routes. The following special services are also available:

  • Access Lynx: Shared-ride, door-to-door van service for qualified individuals who cannot use fixed-route buses due to disabilities
  • FastLink: Weekday commuter service featuring reduced stops for faster travel times.
  • LYMMO: Free downtown Orlando circulator bus operating in partnership with the city
  • NeighborLink: A curb-to-curb, on-demand service with no fixed stops or fixed routes. Riders choose pickup and drop-off locations anywhere inside designated NeighborLink zones.
  • Discout Programs: Offer reduced-rate bus passes for seniors and customers with disabilities using regular fixed routes
