New Coco Scene Added to Mickey’s PhilharMagic

On October 11, 2021, Mickey’s PhilharMagic closed to undergo a short refurbishment. Disney announced that Mickey’s PhilharMagic would be adding a new scene to the show- which would be the first update to the show since it first premiered in 2003. The new scene would feature a musical number from the Disney-Pixar film Coco.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

For those of you who don’t know, Mickey’s PhilharMagic is a 4D film attraction set in a Concert Hall that features Donald Duck getting into mischief and finding himself right in the middle of some of your favorite musical numbers from classic Disney movies. The show is 12-minutes long and features music from such classics as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin and more. It is an amazing show that will make you feel like you’re actually in the scenes of the movies with Donald Duck.

Coco Scene

On November 11, 2021, Mickey’s PhilharMagic reopened after a short refurbishment and a new scene premiered in the show. The new scene from Coco will follow directly after the Lion King musical number. Hector and Miguel are singing “Un Poco Loco” and Dante (Miguel’s alebrije dog) appears wearing Mickey’s sorcerers hat. As usual in the show, Donald Duck gets into some wacky hijinks to retrieve the hat. It is a very cute scene and a welcomed addition as this ride has not been updated in nearly twenty years.

Were there any scenes removed?

No scenes were changed or removed to accommodate the new scene. It was simply added into the lineup. This was the first Pixar movie that was added to the show. It will be interesting to see if Disney will add any more scenes to this classic attraction. With so many amazing Disney films to choose from, what would you like to see next?
