There’s something special about getting outdoors in the fall. The air is crisper, there are delicious smells all around, and treats are ready to enjoy all over Central Florida! Located in Sanford, Red Hill Groves is the perfect place to visit this fall. With freshly squeezed orange juice, Southern BBQ, and a marketplace full of yummy foods, Red Hill Groves is an autumn treat.

The Farm

Red Hill Groves is the cutest farm located right off of 417 in Sanford. There are photo opportunities all over the property, and the owners are the kindest people. When you walk in, you’ll find the marketplace and kitchen first, but toward the back is the farm area. This is the area with the herb garden and my favorite part, chickens! The chickens truly put a smile on my face. You can purchase a bag of seeds and corn and feed the chickens yourself for only fifty cents. Let me tell you, they came running when they saw us with the bag of food!

Market & Kitchen

Red Hill Groves is probably most known for their food. Their market is filled with items to purchase and take home with you like jams and jellies. We also saw locally made honey, beauty products, chips, salsa, and candy like pecan brittle! We took home an assortment of things but everything we tried was delicious, and it felt great to support local and small businesses.

The kitchen at Red Hill Groves serves up southern food that will make your mouth water. Brisket, mac and cheese, coleslaw, ribs, and sweet tea are just a few of their offerings. My favorite part was the mac and cheese, it was full of flavor and melted in my mouth! They also have desserts like key lime pie, cinnamon rolls, and ice cream.

This time I tried the traditional key lime pie as well as the key lime pie on a stick. At first glance, the key lime pie on a stick intrigued me but I wasn’t sure if the chocolate and lime would work together. I have to say, the key lime pie on a stick was my favorite. I’m still thinking about it today! However, I already can’t wait to go back though to try the cinnamon roll with ice cream on top, yum!

Overall

Fall is upon us and Red Hill Groves is the perfect place to go to soak in the season. Visit for southern cooking, freshly squeezed orange juice, or to feed their adorable chickens! I’m already counting down the days till I’m back to try more of their delicious offerings. If the fall season has you feeling down, this is the perfect place to re-coop!

Sanford

Sanford is a great place in Central Florida for families who enjoy a life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a quiet town, with lots of local restaurants and businesses to enjoy! Visit Historic Downtown Sanford for delicious German food at Hollerbach’s, or for a cocktail in a furniture store at The Imperial at Washburn Imports. With less than an hour to Disney and about 40 minutes to Downtown Orlando, Sanford is a great location for people who want to be close to the fun but with a little quiet too.
