It didn’t take an act of Congress, just a musical based on a Founding Father. SunRail is adding a late-night, weekday run to accommodate the return of Hamilton to Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Performances will begin on Sept. 29 and run through Oct. 18.
Special engagement
The service is meant as a transportation alternative for theatergoers and others in the downtown area with standard fares in effect. The added northbound service will depart Church Street Station at 11 p.m. on 12 weeknights during the performance schedule. The train is in addition to the standard weekday southbound service, which departs Church Street at 11:01 p.m.
Welcome back
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s award-winning production follows the rise of Alexander Hamilton, and a legacy that would shape the course of the nation. Based on the biography by Ron Chernow, the score blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway.
Hamilton was first presented at Dr. Phillips Center's Walt Disney Theater January 22 - February 10, 2019. Another run was held October 27 - November 20, 2022. This year's return includes 18 evening shows and six matinees.
