Hollis Wilder, the victorious three time Cupcake Wars winner, calls Orlando home to one of her two cupcake shops in Florida – Sweet by Holly. This is one of my all time favorite cupcake shops in Orlando, although I am slightly biased because they made my wedding cupcakes!

What are the ingredients in a perfect cupcake? At Sweet, the team believes the main ingredient is love. As silly as that sounds, I buy into it with how delicious these cupcakes are. It’s hard to find truly scrumptious cupcakes that aren’t too dry or too sweet, but these cupcakes really are top tier in my opinion.
Over thirty flavors of mini cupcakes are baked daily. Personally, I highly recommend the Black and Gold (a UCF alumni favorite), and the Creme Brûlée. The best part about the mini cupcakes is that they are each about two bites big. It’s the perfect size to try a variety of different flavors without getting overstuffed. Something else that makes this cupcake shop stand out is their assortment of vegan and gluten free cupcakes, so everyone can join in the cupcake cravings!
When I first visited the shop in 2014, it looked a bit different than it does now. Originally, there was a wall for frozen yogurt (anybody remember when froyo was all the craze?). The wall has been closed off and they now offer more baked goods instead. With the recent renovation, there are mini cakes available for purchase as well as cake slices, cake jars, and full size cakes for all of your delectable needs. On Mondays, all minis are a third of the price, so expect to see quite a line when you go in! Trust me though, the wait is totally worth it. The staff is also incredibly friendly, when we visited they offered us a box of free cupcakes because an order had recently been canceled, it made our day!

Cupcake creations thought up by two time Cupcake Wars winner Hollis Wilder line the shelves of Sweet by Holly in Waterford Lakes near UCF. Trust me when I say these are some of the best cupcakes in Orlando. Their mini sizes are perfect for events or trying multiple flavors! Holly’s cupcakes are so delicious, we truly couldn’t have baked them batter ourself.

Sweet by Holly is located in the Waterford Lakes Town Center near the University of Central Florida. There are so many fun things to do here and so many delicious and local restaurants! This area of Central Florida is great for college students, families, and the young at heart! Recently opened PopStroke mini golf created by Tiger Woods is less than a minute away from Sweet, and a wide range of shops are also located in this plaza.
