Disney just announced that the long-awaited expansion for Toy Story Land will be happening this year! It has been revealed that in addition to a new restaurant, there will also be a new shop! Although an exact opening date has not been announced, we have some new details about the new restaurant and store!
Roundup Rodeo Barbecue
A delicious, new barbecue table service restaurant is coming to Andy’s Backyard in Toy Story Land! Roundup Rodeo Barbecue was originally supposed to open in 2020 but was delayed due to the global pandemic. Disney has now confirmed that the new, highly anticipated restaurant will be opening sometime this year. This new dining location will be a family-friendly experience where guests will feel as if they were shrunk down to the size of Andy’s toys. They will be surrounded by toys, games and playsets that Andy has set up. Roundup Rodeo Barbecue will be in the front of Toy Story Land near the giant Woody entrance location. The restaurant is themed to look like carboard boxes cut up and reassembled with tape. It will also feature two large dining rooms and will serve delicious barbecue fare.
Jessie’s Trading Post Store
Jessie’s Trading Post Store was the surprise announcement we never knew we needed! According to Disney Park’s website, “Andy discovered Jessie’s Trading Post play set tucked away in the attic and is bringing it downstairs to set up shop- full of the coolest toys and finest souvenirs handpicked by the rootinest, tootinest cowgirl.” The store will feature toys, playsets, merchandise and more! There aren’t many other details about the new store, but it is a very welcome change considering the lack of retail and dining options in this land.
I, personally, am very excited for this new expansion of Toy Story Land. The Roundup Rodeo Barbecue sounds like it will be another great restaurant to add to the ranks at Hollywood Studios. Jessie’s Trading Post Store will also be a great addition for fans to get all their Toy Story merchandise all-the-while having a fun experience while doing so. What do you think of the new Toy Story Land expansion? Will you be visiting once the new restaurant and store open? The Orlando Real on
