U.S. Olympic Team Trials Heading to Orlando in 2024

In case you haven’t heard yet - Orlando is proud to be one of the host cities for the Olympic Trials and is currently gearing up to host an extraordinary event that will draw the nation's top-tier long-distance runners to compete at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon, right here in our city.

What is happening?

Set to take place on February 3, 2024, this remarkable gathering is a partnership between Orange County, Track Shack Events, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, USA Track & Field, and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

Elite male and female runners will take to the streets for a marathon course in downtown Orlando, striving for victory and the chance to represent Team USA in the upcoming Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The marathon's course is a meticulously designed one 2.2-mile loop and three 8-mile loops, all contributing to a challenging and exciting route.

Scheduled to commence at 12 p.m. and conclude around 4 p.m., the marathon will command attention from start to finish. Given the nature of the event, it's important to note that streets in proximity to the course might experience temporary closures or restricted access for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Where is it?

The marathon course winds through a number of neighborhoods and business districts, including the Central Business District, City District, South Eola, Lake Eola Heights Historic District, Lake Cherokee Historic District, Thornton Park District, and The Milk District. There will be designated viewing zones along the route for the audience to witness the competition up close.

Anticipating a substantial turnout, the event expects around 60,000 to 100,000 enthusiastic spectators to be dispersed throughout the course! For those unable to attend in person, the race will be broadcast live on NBC, making sure no one misses out on the spectacle.
