Florida is known as the “Sunshine State” and while the sunny weather is beautiful and amazing, it can also get pretty hot and uncomfortable! If you and your family are visiting Walt Disney World during a heat wave, it’s important to know where to go to cool down! Here are some of the best ways to escape the heat at Walt Disney World.

1. Splash Mountain – Frontierland
Splash Mountain is one of the best ways to escape the heat in Magic Kingdom. This log-flume ride is not only a lot of fun, but it also has parts that are air conditioned, and you will get wet! It feels nice after a hot day to get splashed and cool down on Splash Mountain.
2. Cool Scanner – Tomorrowland
The Cool Scanner in Tomorrowland is a misting station that is another great way to escape the heat. Walking around the park all day in the heat can be pretty uncomfortable at times and once you get a blast of cold, gentle mist, you will almost immediately cool down.
3. Liki Tikis – Adventureland
The Liki Tikis in Adventureland is another great way to keep cool. Located near the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, this tiki-themed misting station is a must-do when walking around Adventureland on a hot day!
4. Casey Jr’s Splash ‘N’ Soak Station – Storybook Circus
The Splash ‘N’ Soak Station at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland is a fun splash pad area for kids. The play area is inspired by the circus train from the Walt Disney animated classic Dumbo. The train blows a refreshing mist, while the circus animals spray you with water. It is one of the best ways to escape the heat and is a great place for kids to play.

1. Test Track Cool Wash – World Discovery
The Cool Wash is a misting station right outside of Test Track! The best part is that it’s not only a misting station, but also a place where you can get ice cold slushies! There isn’t a better way to cool off on a hot day than standing under misting fans while enjoying your favorite flavor of slushie! Not a fan of slushies? Head over to the slushie-free misting station near the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride!
2. Splash Pad – World Discovery
The Splash Pad at Epcot is a great place for the kids in your party to cool down. It’s located about 100 feet in front of Mission: SPACE. The base of the splash pad is made of a spongy material, so you won’t have to worry while your kids are playing! Pro tip – you may want to bring a change of clothes for them because you can get pretty soaked playing over here!
3. Club Cool – World Celebration
Club Cool is a fan-favorite for all who visit Epcot! This Coca Cola store is not only air conditioned, but also has drink machines that line the entire back wall! You can sample sodas from around the world! Be sure to try them all the next time you’re at Epcot!
4. The Seas Pavilion – World Nature
The Seas Pavilion is not only one of the best and largest aquariums in the entire United States, but it is also another great way to cool down! You can walk through this enormous (air conditioned!) 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium and learn all about sea life, marine biology, and more!

If you are looking for one of the best ways to stay cool at Animal Kingdom, you must ride Kali River Rapids. While riding this rip-roaring river raft ride, you will almost certainly get drenched!
2. Festival of the Lion King
The Festival of the Lion King is one of the most amazing shows in Walt Disney World. Not only will you have fun singing along to your favorite songs from the Disney animated classic The Lion King, but you’ll also have about 40 minutes in a nice, air-conditioned environment!
There are misting stations throughout Animal Kingdom, but if you prefer to escape the heat by going on an air-conditioned ride, here’s where you need to go:
