The Wolf Branch Innovation District (WBID) is set to bridge the landscape between Sorrento and Mount Dora, serving as a major mixed-use employment center that will bring new opportunities for business, residential living, and community engagement. Spanning 850 acres, this district is strategically located along State Road 46, with plans to seamlessly tie the two neighboring areas together, enhancing both connectivity and local growth.

With the renderings echoing the modern atmosphere of Avalon Park, WBID will feature a blend of professional offices, retail spaces, commerce hubs, and housing. The district is poised to offer a range of living options, from apartments to single-family homes, creating a dynamic environment for different lifestyles and life stages.

Central to the district’s development is a focus on job creation, education, and business opportunities—goals shared by both the City of Mount Dora and Lake County, which have worked on this vision for nearly two decades. This forward-thinking initiative aims to retain the local workforce by providing employment options close to home, enhancing the area’s economic vitality.
Earlier this year, Richland Communities received approval from the city to move forward on developing a 550-acre portion of the district. This phase will include a community park, more residential housing, and new apartment complexes, marking a significant step toward maximizing the full potential of WBID. As this district evolves, it promises to be a hub for both commerce and lifestyle, attracting businesses and families who want to take part in the area’s exciting growth.
