Magical Dining is beginning in just a couple of weeks, running from August 26 through October 2, 2022. If you are new to the area, you might not know exactly what this event entails. Run by Visit Orlando, Magical Dining allows the community to eat delicious food and support a good cause.
What to Expect
This year, Magical Dining is celebrating its 17th year, from the end of August to the beginning of October. The part that makes Magical Dining so unique is that each restaurant serves up a limited time menu just for this event. For $40 per person, plus tax and gratuity, each meal comes with an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. Certain restaurants also serve additional courses.
With the purchase of each meal, $1 is donated to a local charity. Visit Orlando and Magical Dining is partnering with The Able Trust this year, which aims to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities. According to their website, the money will specifically support The Able Trust’s High School High Tech program. This program offers high school students with disabilities the opportunity to explore in-demand jobs, and further education opportunities after High School.
This year, there are 95 restaurants participating in Magical Dining! You can visit the website to find restaurants that have menus to suit specific dietary needs like gluten-free and vegan, or to find specific types of cuisine like American and Italian. It can also point you to restaurants that are close to your location, and which restaurants have been awarded a MICHELIN Guide.
There are so many restaurants to choose from, and the $40 cost is a considerably good deal for them, especially since a portion goes to charity. Once at the restaurant, you should be presented with a Magical Dining menu. To participate, tell your server or bartender you will be doing Magical Dining. Voila – you will be ordering three courses and supporting a great cause!
