Back in February of last year, we spotlighted the upcoming opening of the new bar BarkHaven and their exciting mission to elevate the dog-friendly bar experience to a new level. Now open near Ivanhoe Village, we had the chance to visit this unique spot with our furry guest, Socko, and discover everything it offers—from its thoughtfully designed spaces to its exciting menu and amenities.
The Experience
Depending on whether you visit on a weekday or a weekend, the atmosphere at BarkHaven could vary greatly. We were able to check it out on a rainy Wednesday afternoon and find plenty of parking space in this impressively large establishment, showing off 3,600 square feet of air conditioned warehouse space.
Upon entering, we were welcomed with a neon sign that made their goals clear with the greeting “All Dogs Go To Haven”. And judging from how packed weekends can get at this location, it’s definitely a doggy hot spot!
The entrance of BarkHaven opens up into a clean and modern lobby that’s accentuated by winter white walls and a tree bark accent wall, boldly illuminated by the dog bar’s fun logo. On the left side of the lobby is the bar and the right side holds the spa, one of the many amenities that BarkHaven has in store. Socko was just as excited as we were to discover this new local hangout, even though it was a slow day when we first arrived.
Admission + Memberships
Entry is free for guests without pets, but bringing your dog requires a day pass priced at $10 on weekdays and $15 on weekends. First-time visitors can register their pets on-site for no extra cost, though vaccination records must be provided for future visits.
BarkHaven also offers monthly and annual memberships that guarantee more bang for your bark.
Day Pass: $10 weekday, $15 weekends
Monthly Membership: $35 a month / $10 additional pet
Annual Membership: $350 a year / $100 additional pet
Amenities
BarkHaven’s amenities are designed with dogs in mind. The highlight is its spacious, fenced-in dog yard, where pups can roam leash-free, socialize, and burn off energy. Water bowls are strategically placed throughout, and a doggy attendant keeps a watchful eye to make sure everyone gets along.
Socko had a blast running through their open space and meeting new pups, and after mingling with some of their owners, so did we!
Another frequently used amenity in BarkHaven is their doggy spa, where there is a wide variety of premium grooming services and packages that will cater to your furry loved ones every need. From teeth brushing and ear cleaning, to blueberry facials and full makeovers, the dog spa at BarkHaven will leave you feeling jealous for some spa time too.
Bar & Food
The other half of BarkHaven is the cool atmosphere of their chic and industrial bar, complete with warm seating and natural lighting that pours in from the wide open windows of the warehouse. The bar has an extensive food menu for guests and their pups, making sure that even the doggies won’t leave on an empty stomach.
The food menu has a variety of choices, offering appetizers such as ribs, fries, street corn, and even 3 different styles of wings. The entrees include burgers, sandwiches, up to 5 different types of pizza, and even steak frites. Pups can also choose from pumpkin and broccoli burgers, a chicken medley, and even ice cream pup cups.
The drink menu is fully stocked with a range of draft beers, seltzers, various wines, hand-crafted cocktails, martinis, and even mocktails for both you and your doggies. Pups can enjoy their own “paw-secco spritzers”, where they get small servings of sparkling water and juicy fruits to enjoy while owners have a drink of their own.
We had their incredible Charred Caesar ($13) with Chicken (+$6), a deliciously crisp salad made from full leaves of charred romaine lettuce topped with garlic crouton crumble and perfectly grilled chicken, that went perfect with a mimosa. We also grabbed a Florida Sunshine Lager ($7) and a vodka/soda water to enjoy while we walked around and played with the pups outside, an incredibly fun drinking activity that we never knew we needed to try.
Our pup got to enjoy one of BarkHaven’s Pup Cakes ($2) and he almost ate it all up in one bite!
Grooming Services
