Home to Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, a 270-acre golf resort, Bay Hill is a small, census-designated place 13 miles southwest of Downtown Orlando. It is known for its luxurious properties and well-maintained residential areas.

Bay Hill is located up against four major lakes: Lake Blanche, Lake Chase, Lake Tibet (the largest of the four), and Lake Sheen. Directly north of Bay Hill is the town of Windermere, whilst Doctor Philips is located directly east. As of 2020, the population of Bay Hill is about 5,000.

The average home price has risen in the past few years and sits comfortably at around $800,000, though this is on the rise. Mostly single-family homes, there are a select few townhomes, waterfront condos, and vacant lots for sale in this community, and building dates range from the ‘60s to the present. 

The majority of Bay Hill is residential, with winding streets tucked around the area’s central golf course resort. Architecturally, there are a number of different styles to be found in Bay Hill. Bay Hill's properties also include Mediterranean-style homes and more eccentric, custom-built luxury estates.

There are a number of gated neighborhoods within Bay Hill that offer a little bit of extra privacy and security for residents, and within these communities are some of the most desirable waterfront properties—especially those on or near Lake Tibet and Lake Chase. These gated communities include Bay Point, Pointe Tibet, and Emerson Pointe, and offer residents not only beautiful, luxury homes but also private docks for water access. Bay Hill Village is located on the golf course and has its own clubhouse.

One of the most luxurious neighborhoods in Bay Hill is Bentley Park. Relatively small in size, all of these homes for sale sit on Bentley Park Circle, but encompass luxury in every respect. Outdoor pools, multiple car garages, in-home theaters—when it comes to home features, the list goes on. Cypress Pointe, another luxury gated community in Bay Hill, is located just to the south, and offers much of the same elegance.

Of course, Bay Hill’s most recognizable feature is its golf course. Highly-rated, this resort is quite popular for its challenging course and excellent amenities, its great service, and its excellent location near the Orlando theme parks. However, golf membership (while not a requirement) must be purchased by homeowners; it is not included in any HOA fee.

Walt Disney resort is located about 8 miles south of Bay Hill. Residents enjoy this and regularly take advantage of the close proximity, especially families. Bay Hill residents with water access enjoy taking their boat out on the lake, spending time on the patio, and entertaining guests.

In regards to shopping, dining, and entertainment, Bay Hill is largely residential, but commercial areas are just a short drive away. Theme parks, theaters, restaurants, and more are at your fingertips. The neighboring community of Dr. Phillips is known for its retails and dining, so it's easy to pop over to Plaza Venezia and the Marketplace at Dr. Phillips to pick up anything you need—and then continue on east for even more options.

When it comes to education, Bay Hill students attend one of the area schools: Bay Meadows Elementary School, Palm Lake Elementary School, Dr. Phillips Elementary School, Southwest Middle School, and Dr. Phillips High School. There are private schools in the area, as well.
