Community Spotlight: Hunter's Creek

Hunter’s Creek borders Kissimmee, FL and is the place to be if you’re looking to have an Orlando address without residing in the city’s heart itself! Located in South Orange County, this area makes for an ideal place to buy a home and raise a family in, containing four elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.

As of the 2020 census, the Hunter’s Creek population was at 24,433, and the area makes up approximately 7 square miles of South Orlando.

 


Neighborhoods and Home Buying

There are currently 38 single family home neighborhoods in Hunter’s Creek and 10 multi family home neighborhoods. View the street map of the area here.

Currently, the average price for a home in Hunter’s Creek is in the high $500’s, with the average price for a home sold over the past few months at $558K.

Hunters Isle

Hunter’s Isle is a neighborhood in Hunter’s Creek filled with custom-built homes. This community is gated and has two lakes within its boundaries, as well as two water fountains and a small conservation area park. This neighborhood got its start in 1990 and has since grown to have a total of 92 homes. Hunter’s Isle has an active neighborhood watch program, an annual block party and a quarterly newsletter to keep all of its residents informed.

Casa Vista

Casa Vista is one of Hunter’s Creek’s newest neighborhoods with its first residents having moved into their homes in 1999 and it becoming an official Hunter’s Creek neighborhood in 2001. This neighborhood is close to Vista Park and its three soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts and a dog park.


What to Do and Where to Go

Throughout Hunter's Creek there are so many options when it comes to food, shopping and more. Located just barely a mile from Hunter’s Creek is also The Loop in Kissimmee – the place to go for all things food and fun related! Let’s check out all of what it has to offer:

Restaurants

Up and down John Young Parkway you'll find some delicious spots such as Tacos My Guey, Gator's Dockside, and Tavern at the Creek.

Travel a few minutes down the road to The Loop, and there are a wide variety of restaurants available to eat at as well.

If you’re in the mood for pizza, be sure to check out Pienezza! Their focus is on making traditional pizzas and creating a sense of community. Or if you have a hankering for a different kind of Italian cuisine, stop by Noodles & Company for a vast selection of pasta dishes!

Feening for something more American? You can also find classic fast food restaurants like Chick fil A, Wendy’s and Johnny Rockets. Quench your thirst with some boba at Milk Tea Cafe, or stuff yourself full with falafel from Little Greek!

Shopping

Up your closet game at The Loop by shopping at some of its many stores! For clothing, you can head to Ross Dress for Less, Kohl’s, Aéropostale, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Famous Footwear, the Nike and Converse clearance stores, Journey and Old Navy.

If you're browsing for something other than clothes, other stores include Michael’s, Five Below, Bed Bath & Beyond, Petco and more for all your shopping needs.

Entertainment

Catch a movie at the Regal Cinemas movie theater, where you and your family can take a night to get out and watch the latest, greatest films in style!

You can also visit some exotic animals at Gatorland or put some bounce to the ounce at Altitude Trampoline Park in Kissimmee! This trampoline park has a wide range of attractions with high-flying trampolines, courses and competitions. There’s even a court just for kids so everyone can safely bounce to their heart’s content!


A Touch of Nature

Sometimes, living in a city can lead us to forget about where it all began: nature. Luckily, Hunter’s Creek offers a great way for families, friends and everyone to reconnect with nature at Osprey Park!

Osprey Park is the best place in Hunter’s Creek to sit back, relax and become one with nature. Take advantage of its covered pavilion and eat at its dozens of picnic tables. There are a few fields perfect for playing sports including a basketball court, baseball/softball field, multi-purpose field, soccer fields, tennis courts and a playground. This neighborhood also frequently holds major events on select holidays such as Bunny in the Park, the Independence Day Celebration, Fall Festival and Hunter’s Creep Nights.

Here, you can also find the veterans monument honoring those in the armed forces.

 


Overall

It may not be that big, but Hunter’s Creek has a lot to offer given its size. Homes may tend to be on the pricier side in this community, but in addition to their large sizes and beauty, they come with being in such close proximity to a variety of amenities. What more could you ask for than having an endless number of things to do so close to home?
