Mills Market will welcome a new version of a beloved Japanese shopping/take-out experience courtesy of Michelin-star chef, William Shen. UniMart is set to open this summer with a variety of snacks, goods, and a to-go menu in the style of Konbini stores.
What is Konbini?

Konbini are as common in Japan as 7-Eleven are in the U.S. The 24/7 convenience stores offer an array of goods and prepare quality, quick-service items ranging from bento boxes to fried chicken. A previous Orlando version, aptly titled Konbini, was located at East End Market between March and October of 2016. The ownership group opted to close the market as they prepared to open their intimate, multi-course dining experience, Kadence. UniMart will operate during the same 10 a.m - 9 p.m. schedule as Mills Market.

Shen also backs Mills Market favorites, Zaru, Michelin-recognized UniGirl, Cowboy Curry, and Okonomi, which opened last year. He also opened Baldwin Park’s two-Michelin-starred Sorekara with Mills Market co-founders Johnny and Jimmy Tung. The team recently announced a yet-to-be-named concept will take over the former home of Colibri Mexican Restaurant at 4979 New Broad St. The upcoming eatery is expected to open by the end of the year with an accessible menu featuring a la carte selections and a lively atmosphere.
An UniMart Instagram account is currently set up but not populated. More info is expected in the coming weeks.
