Ministry of Magic Coming to Epic Universe?

Universal’s new and highly anticipated theme park, Epic Universe, is projected to open by Summer 2025! Over the past few months, there have been several announcements and rumors regarding what will be coming to the new park. One of the most exciting rumors that we have heard was that there will be a new Harry Potter themed area – the Ministry of Magic!

We did an article back in February of this year about Epic Universe, but here’s some more insider details about the park that we found out!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Universal is home to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and its two enchanting lands: Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Universal Studios is home to Diagon Alley. Then, just a short train ride away lies Hogsmeade in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Both are part of the Harry Potter books and movies, and are incredibly themed and immersive. Recently, guests have been wondering if a third Harry Potter themed land was going to be added. If the rumors are true, it looks like we will be getting one themed to the Ministry of Magic. This will also include a ride to go along with it!

Details About the New Land

While nothing has been confirmed as of right now, many rumors have been circulating that a new Harry Potter themed land will be joining the ranks of Epic Universe. The land will supposedly be based on London’s Ministry of Magic, linking the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter movies. This land was originally supposed to be added to the Diagon Alley part of Universal Studios. However, due to lack of space the idea was scrapped.

It has been rumored that guests will get into the Ministry of Magic area using the Floo Network. With the use of special effects, it will bring guests to the other side of the wall where they will appear in the large hall leading to the Ministry’s atrium. There will also be fireplaces used to exit the building, just like in the movies.

About the Ride

When it comes to the ride, it will be inside the grand atrium area in the Ministry of Magic. It was originally going to be a trackless ride much like Disney’s Rise of the Resistance, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This idea was unfortunately scrapped not long after. The ride idea has stayed the same however, and will supposedly feature the story surrounding the trial of Dolores Umbridge.

The ride will pick up right where the Harry Potter movies left off. It will begin in a courtroom setting, where Umbridge stands trial. During the first scene of the ride, Death Eaters arrive to break Umbridge out and leave the courtroom. The journey continues as the good guys try to defeat the Death Eaters and capture Umbridge. This exciting ride will also showcase various locations as seen in the films, as well as new ones designed for the new attraction. In addition to this ride, there was also a permit filed for a theater in the land, and another part that features an elevator (an idea for another ride).

Overall

Although these are just rumors right now, there is a lot of evidence that the Ministry of Magic will be coming to Epic Universe. Another Harry Potter land would be an amazing addition, considering how popular it is already at the other Universal parks. It will be exciting to hear more news regarding this new land, and the attractions that will come along with it. What are you most excited to see arrive at Epic Universe?
