Pickleball enthusiasts will have an exciting and expansive new venue in Ocoee with the approval of the Ocoee Pickleball Complex. The plan was approved during a public hearing at the Sept. 16 city commission meeting and offers next-level amenities in indoor and outdoor settings.

The Ocoee Pickleball Complex will be constructed on three commercial properties, located on Jacob Nathan Boulevard, and consist of three buildings with the following features:
- Building 1: 15 indoor pickleball courts; locker room with sauna, showers, and restrooms; a gaming area; conference room; a retail location; a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and court views on two levels.
- Building 2: 10 indoor pickleball courts with indoor viewing areas.
- Building 3: Banquet hall
The facility will also offer an outdoor space with a championship court and shaded bleacher seating. And a total of 172 parking spaces will be offered in compliance with city Land Development Codes.

The city last year rejected a rezoning request for a larger version of the plan, which featured 25 outdoor courts. At the time, residents expressed concerns about the scale and possible noise disruptions. Ocoee leaders hosted a community meeting in August where residents had an opportunity to pose questions to project developers, Vasant Sports, LLC.
According to an annual growth report by USA Pickleball, 4,000 new national locations were added in 2024, bringing the total to 15,910 courts throughout the U.S. The sport welcomes players of all skill levels and popularity is driven by expanding programs, sanctioned tournaments and strategic partnerships with cities and local communities.
