Orlando isn’t just a great place for people to live, it’s a great place for your pets, too. According to WalletHub’s 2025 rankings, our city landed #7 in the country for pet-friendliness, thanks in part to our pet health and wellness resources, dog-friendly dining options, and plenty of spots to enjoy the outdoors with your furry friends.
If you’re a pet owner here in Central Florida, you’ve got options far beyond the backyard. From parks and trails to cafes and events, Orlando offers plenty of ways for you and your four-legged companions to spend time together. Let’s check them out!
Enjoy the outdoors with your pups!
For dog owners, Orlando’s off-leash dog parks are the perfect place to let pups burn off energy. Lake Baldwin Park is a local favorite, featuring a large fenced-in area, shaded seating for humans, and even lake access for water-loving dogs. Over in the Conway area, Barber Park has separate play areas for large and small breeds, plus agility equipment for extra fun.
If you’re looking for a more scenic stroll, Mead Botanical Garden allows leashed dogs and features shady walking trails and peaceful green space. Check out Greenwood Urban Wetlands for an agility dog park and paved trail around the lake. And for weekend adventures, the Cady Way Trail or West Orange Trail makes for great long walks

The Teakwood Neighborhood Grill is known for bringing water bowls to your table, while Rock & Brews has a special “doggie menu” so your pet can enjoy a treat while you eat. Bark Avenue Bakery in Winter Park takes it a step further, offering fresh-baked treats made just for dogs.
Pet-friendly events!
Orlando’s event calendar has no shortage of pet-centered events. From Paws in the Park at Lake Eola to seasonal “yappy hours” at breweries like Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co., you can find plenty of opportunities to socialize your dog while supporting local rescues.
Farmers markets, such as the Winter Park Farmers’ Market, are also a great way to spend a Saturday morning. For breed meet-ups and other events, check out BarkHaven in Ivanhoe. Humans enter free but their dogs must have valid registration and day pass or membership.
Pet boutiques and services
With the growing demand for pet services, Orlando has no shortage of pet boutiques, groomers, and specialty shops. Woof Gang Bakery has multiple locations offering grooming, high-quality food, and gourmet treats. For a unique shopping trip, head to Pookie’s Pet Nutrition & Bow Wow Bakery in Winter Park for organic snacks and eco-friendly toys.
Wrap-up
There is no doubt that Orlando makes it easy to live your best pet parent life. Ranking #7 in the nation just confirms what local pet owners already know: this is a city where pets are part of the family.
