Seaworld Day Camps for Kids of All Ages this Summer

By Holley Long

Summer is so close we can taste it (and definitely feel it in this Central Florida heat), and you may be looking at the months between school years, wondering how to fill them for your child. While there’s no shortage of things to do in Orlando, we know of something that will have kids learning in a fun, safe, and exciting environment.

SeaWorld Orlando Day Camps

If your child has ever expressed a curiosity in ocean wildlife, SeaWorld Orlando’s day camps are the perfect thing to turn that little interest into respect and love for the sea and its creatures. For a week, your camper will receive hands-on experience and exposure in the marine biology sphere, meeting dolphins, sharks, whales, and more.

While the kids enjoy their time, parents can have peace of mind knowing SeaWorld employs superior safety standards and has low counselor to camper ratios, so all children receive appropriate attention and care.

From Preschool to Grade 12

SeaWorld Orlando offers day camps for all grade-levels. For parents with little ones at home, there’s Seafari Sea Camp, where parents accompany their preschooler to a half-day program full of meeting animals, behind-the-scenes exhibit visits, and interactive experiences—like touching a shark!

If you have high schoolers at home, enroll them in Marine Zoological Careers, where your budding marine biologist can experience a dolphin encounter, an in-water shark activity, priority access at select attractions, and more. The idea is for campers to learn how they might pursue animal care, even if they’re just starting to consider their future career.

No matter the age of your camper, they will enjoy:

  • Up-close animal encounters

  • Grade-level appropriate activities and crafts

  • A complimentary T-shirt and water bottle

  • A secure drop-off and pick-up location (for all but preschoolers, who will be accompanied by their parents)

Other Educational Programs

As a theme park dedicated to one-of-a-kind animal experiences, SeaWorld Orlando has tons of educational programs to entice young minds.

During SeaWorld’s Sleepaway Camps, a group of youths can spend the night in a venue of their choice (including the dolphin, beluga whale, and shark exhibits) and learn more about the marine creatures and how to care for them. And did I mention pizza and ice cream are on the dinner menu?

There are also programs that other camps, schools, and youth groups can check out in order to offer children in their care a fun outing. If you’re in charge of a group that could use a theme park field trip this summer, SeaWorld would be a great idea.

Overall

Orlando has plenty of attractions and activities to keep children occupied all summer long, but if you want your kids to have a week full of fun times and educational opportunities, SeaWorld Day Camps are a fit for them. Heads up, though—spots are filling up fast, so if you want to enroll your child in a camp, try not to wait too long!
