Stemma Craft Coffee

by Yasmene Warren

Calling all coffee lovers! America may run on Dunkin, but Orlando’s Stemma Craft Coffee has quite a bit to offer “the city beautiful.” Let’s check it out!

What is Stemma Craft Coffee?

Stemma Craft Coffee is a new coffee shop located downtown on North Orange Avenue and has been serving the Orlando community sustainably sourced coffee since October of 2022. It’s open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so whether you’re an early bird or a late riser, there’s plenty of time to get a taste of what’s on the menu!

This coffee shop is all about family as owners and mother-daughter-duo Rebecca and María Blandon opened Stemma to honor Rebecca’s late father, who dreamt about opening a coffee shop with his family.

Stemma Craft Coffee prides itself on its sustainability and comes from four generations of Nicaraguan coffee growers. This company strives to leave “a legacy of love with the aroma of coffee.”

The Coffee

Let’s get down to what Stemma’s all about: coffee.

There are eight sections on Stemma Craft Coffee’s drink menu, which include craft drinks, drip, pour overs, espresso, espresso + milk, cold brew, not coffee and tea. The first drink under Stemma’s craft drink menu is called “El Güerito,” and it’s named after María Blandon’s late husband, who she used to call “mi Güerito.” This drink is iced and consists of espresso, sweetened milk, pineapple foam and grated cookie.

If you’re not really a coffee person, Stemma still has you covered! Choose from a “Té de Pulpa,” “Horchata” or a yummy hot chocolate with toasted marshmallows. This shop also serves iced and hot teas such as the “FL Chai Latte” or a “Dirty Mama Matcha.”

The Grub

Stemma Craft Coffee may have coffee in its name, but that’s not all the establishment has to offer. You can either order from Stemma’s all-day breakfast menu, or pick a bite from its lunch menu after 11 a.m.

Grab a classic breakfast staple like a croissant sandwich with ham or maple bacon, mashed avocado, sun dried tomatoes, a fried egg and spicy mayo, or switch it up with traditional Latin American breakfast dishes like black bean toast or beef empanadas.

Stemma’s lunch menu has just as much variety to offer as its breakfast one! This shop serves sandwiches, tuna toast, a nica bowl and a couple salad options as well. The prosciutto baguette is definitely one menu item that needs to be at the top of your list of dishes to try at Stemma Craft Coffee!

The Aura

As the daylight shines through Stemma’s large windows, the colorful interior not only brightens up the room, but also the mood. The walls are lined with comfy booth seats with black marbled tables and velvet, blush colored seats across from them. Stop and take a pic “where the hip, come to sip,” and let the warm lanterns hanging from the ceiling light up your world.

Whether you’re coming here with friends or just need a place to step out on your own, this coffee shop is sure to meet all your needs!

Overall

Despite still being a fairly new establishment, Stemma Craft Coffee has truly made its home in Orlando and has fostered a warm community within its walls. It’s lively, it’s flourishing and it’s certainly “brewing” up something great in this city.

Downtown Orlando

Within the thriving nightlife that is Downtown Orlando lies a hearty community of shops, restaurants, bars and more. Walk your dog down the sidewalks, and take a gander at the beautiful Lake Eola. One step in this part of town and you’ll be wishing you could live there forever.
