Sunroom in Mills50

by Yasmene Warren

After a long, grueling day at work, sometimes, all you want to do is unwind in a calm environment with a delicious, hand-crafted drink. Luckily, at this bar called Sunroom, that’s exactly what you can do.

Where Is It?

Sunroom is located on North Mills Avenue just moments from the beautiful Downtown Orlando. You can find it right next to its sister bar, the Guesthouse, and near a taqueria called Black Rooster as they all share a building!

This bar is for evening drinkers only as its opening hours are from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. every Tuesday through Saturday.

Feelin’ Thirsty?

This holiday season, Sunroom debuted its holiday-themed menu, Santa’s Shred Sled, with sections named “Boozy,” “Yule Shoot Your Eye Out,” “Winter Rippers” and “Rich.” More drinks such as “8 Crazy Nights,” “Red Nosed Fogcutter,” “Nutcracker Nog” and “Ho! Ho! Cocoa” are sure to put you in the holiday spirit!

Sunroom holds its happy hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during opening hours where you can get five cocktails for only $8 each! You can also get $2 off wine and beer and a $6 boilermaker during these hours.

The Brooklynite cocktail is to die for and is made with rum, honey syrup, lime juice and bitters. Sunroom tops its Brooklynites with a little bit of ginger beer to give it a little bit of spice, and it truly tops it off!

The Ambiance

Sunroom offers a very laid back, relaxing drinking experience. On a Wednesday night, when I went, it’s not too loud but was still alive and thriving with guests.

The walls and ceilings were lined with garland, ribbon and string lights for the holiday season, and the ceiling LEDs above the bar shined red and green to really give off that Christmas feeling!

Corners and tables held lit candles and small greenery such as cacti or succulents. For this holiday season, mini Christmas trees filled the corner of this small bar on Mills!

Overall

If you’re looking for a quick drink and a chill place with a calming vibe to unwind with a couple friends or even by yourself, then Sunroom is just the place for you! Sunroom keeps it fresh with holiday-themed menus, but rest assured, if classic drinks are what you’re in the mood for, this bar has you covered!
